Human Grade Product For People and Fur Babies
I was needing to address my two, twelve year old dogs' digestive concerns. I researched, first, and decided to try Spices For Less brand. This is my first, 8oz bag, ordered via Amazon. It's easy to add to my dogs' dry food. I mix with a little water. Some whiney reviewers complained the powder is "too lumpy". There can be a few, small lumps, but nothing a responsible person can't simply resolve by mashing it down. The benefits of the product far outweighs the minor inconvenience of breaking up a little lump or two. My dogs are loving it and getting great results. This is the only pumpkin powder product I've been able to find that only contains the flesh of the pumpkin. Other products either state they include the whole pumpkin, stem and all...or they don't list what all is going into their product. I'm not buying a product that will not list exactly what is in their pumpkin powder. I don't want my furry kids to be without a product that not only helps them but they absolutely love it, as well! I'm very happy placing another order.

Surprised me!
I bake and sell madeleines (create my own recipes) and if you know anything about making madeleines you know that they are a delicate recipe to mess with. For years I have tried many test recipes with canned pumpkin, no matter want combination I’ve tried the texture was just off, too wet, mushy the next day, powdered sugar gets sucked up before I can sell them, just an all around mess! I tried using flavoring and just spices but they tasted off, no pumpkin flavor. Finally I came across this pumpkin powder and I’ve finally accomplished what I thought was impossible. My first attempt using the pumpkin powder was in a smoothie, I made the mistake of using a tad too much and it was very potent and a bit more savory than I had anticipated, with that being said you can remedy that with sweetener so do not be deterred. The pumpkin powder texture is like that of pb2 powder, mine is a tinge clumpy but I sift before baking with it. The pumpkin flavor is very prominent which is good, again it’s a bit savory so if you plan to bake with it I suggest upping the sugar a bit for example- normally I’d use 2/3 cup sugar in this recipe but I upped to 3/4 to make up for the savory taste. As far as texture in baking goes I would say you definitely need to tweak recipes a little. I assumed it would work similar to pb2 powder since the texture was the same but pumpkin powder definitely sucks the liquid out of your recipe a bit more. Example- when I’m replacing flour in a recipe I’d normally reduce the flour from 1 cup to 3/4, then you make up the other 1/4 with your substitution. However I found this out on my first test with the pumpkin powder madeleines I needed to reduce the flour to 2/3 but keep the pumpkin at 1/4 and I replaced a 1/4 of the sugar with honey. The honey and sugar added the right amount of sweetness, texture and moisture so the madeleines were not dry and dense. The powder is easy to use as you don’t need to worry about storing extra canned pumpkin. I cannot tell you how happy I am to finally have a pumpkin madeleine recipe that I’m proud of, the texture is good, the taste is good, I of course added spices to make it taste even better and what’s pumpkin dessert without a but of molasses! I totally recommend this product especially if you are baking with it.

Dog loves it!
I have a 11 year old female Beagle who has stomach issues that can be tamed with live culture yogurt and pumpkin. The canned pumpkin never seems to last. Decided to try dehydrated. I wanted something that was a good price, and of human grade. Searched and red threw multiple brands. Have been using this one for about 2 months or so. Am happy with the quality, and the fact it helps my dogs tummy. I will be ordering again.

Fine product
This helped my cat with his episodic diarrhea, sprinkled a little bit on his wet and dry food.

it is a little clumpy
which for me is a problem because I feed it to my cat to combat some of his digestive issues. If you have ever fed a cat you know they can be picky eaters and are not about to chomp down on a dried clump of pumpkin dust. So for my purposes, I need a finer powder. That said if you are using it to cook or are dissolving it in some way I produce would be great for you. It is easy to use and you get a decent amount (to me again feeding a cat, not a human. I only need a tine scoop at a time). I can't speak to the flavor. It smells right and kind of strong on its own. But I haven't mixed it in a curry or anything yet.

Pumpkin Powder instead of canned for baking!
I purchased this pumpkin powder to replace canned pumpkin in my biscotti recipe. Using the powder provided the same flavor without having to adjust my recipe (several times) due to the consistency and moisture in canned pumpkin.I was very happy to find real powdered pumpkin that works well and does not change the flavor of my biscotti.

My dog loves it!
Used a brand specifically for dogs previously, and Molly hated it. Instead of rushing to ear her wet food, she’d leave it until much later in the day. She really needed the fiber, but I wanted her to enjoy her food, so tried this human-grade powder. The other brand had the consistency of sawdust, but this one is a true powder that mixes easily into her wet food, and now she looks forward to breakfast again!

Rabbit approved!
I got this to use instead of canned pumpkin to give flavor to a food mash for a rabbit who was hardly eating AND I taste test it every time I put it in the food mash and it tastes like pumpkin. I also got banana powder and add that to the mash too.
