Great fasteners for plaster
It’s true that these are hard yo find and that they work very well into plaster. I have bikes on a Rubbermaid product held entirely and reliably with these units into plaster/lath.

They work - no pre-drilling
Needed to find a fastener that would screw into fiber cement siding without pre-drilling or needing tungsten drill bits. I had previously gone to my local hardware store and asked for screws to do the job but what they sold me just would not penetrate the siding at all without first pre-drilling. I ordered these and they worked really well and whats more they were half the price my local hardware store. Needless to say they work almost everywhere else too.

Save time and lower the frustration level with the correct screw
I used this screw along with some Power Pro Cement Board screws for my latest project. The Cement Board Self-Drilling screw contains a sharp point allowing it to easily and cleanly drill through the Backer Board without busting out pieces of the Backer Board. The Power Pro screw would drill through the Backer Board without issue. When the screw contacted the metal it would either push the metal away or push the Backer Board away from the metal then bust a large hole in the Backer Board. The fine threads on the Cement Board Self-Drilling screw allows it to bite into the metal stud and firmly hold the Backer Board. The Power Pro screws have course threads and do not hold the backer Board to the metal studs as securely as the Cement Board Self-Drilling Screw.Perfect screw for attaching Backer Board to metal studs

Works just fine, but doesn't countersink on it's own - maybe ...
Used it to attach Hardie Panel. Works just fine, but doesn't countersink on it's own - maybe half way. Didn't expect it to, but they said it would.

Great product if you have a steel framed home
The self taping feature is just what you need when attaching to steel studs. No need to pre- drill a hole.

Don't buy phillips screw drive
The quality of the screw seems ok but it is too difficult to drive down to countersink depth without the phillips drive slipping. I bought new ones with torx drive, much better
