This will protect your flywheel!
Heavy duty protection that fits really well once installed. This is made of coated metal and very rigid and durable. If you have transmission lines below your starter you will likely have to bend those lines (carefully) to get this in place. Also note, if you have headers you WILL scuff them up getting this into place. If you have headers and transmission lines you “may” want to consider a plastic option for more flexibility when installing.Note, your starter has to be on the passenger side for this to fit. I have a TH350 and bolt holes align well. You will also need bolts and washers. 1/4-20 fit but loose in the thread. Spent $8 and but the ones that Amazon recommends when you buy this (unless you already have them).

fitment.
product arrived as scheduled and appeared to be free of defects from shipping. However, the cover did not fit perfectly. You will probably have to grind or modify the starter opening hole just a little bit. Other than that, It bolted right in.

I like that it's a copy of the steel original cover...
See title, although it needed a couple modifications to fit the Vortec engine I'm building, fitment is perfect, as far as transmission goes.. Have actually never had one, since I pulled dead Olds engine, converted to chevy 350, and now to a vortec, lost efi, ecm, etc, running a quadrajet and HEI...

Doesn't fit 168 tooth flywheel or around starter without modification
There is no way on earth this fits correctly. You will have to modify it, so be prepared to grind it down, hammer it to clear a 168 tooth flywheel (if you're running one instead of 153 tooth). You'll have to shape it around the starter as well. It looks nice, just doesn't fit without modification.
