Acceptable, but just average.
Well, I tested PP and Simple Green side-by-side today on a stained and dirty outdoor 15-gal (approx.) ceramic planter. Over the years, I've used almost everything you think of to cleaner outdoor planters. This planter was fairly nasty with mold, mildew, dirt, etc. I used both full strength with about a 10 min. sitting removing with garden hose fitted with a "power" nozzle. Results were identical. Both cleaned (with scrubbing from me). It's as good but not better than Zep, Simple Green, all the usual "industrial" cleaners. Given the muscle I put into the job I wasn't truly surprised. Both did OK (mildew and mold removal are a real bear on puros surfaces). The per-oz. cost on all these industrial cleaners is nearly identical, and I suspect the cleaning performance with the same level of muscle effort is very close. Both solutions left a bit of mold/mildew embedded in the pores that I suspect I'll need to use my pressure washer on. I've used homemade mold/mildew remover and gotten outstanding results for the money. High strength vinegar and baking soda mixes are great, and I'll likely apply some to this planter. You can search the web or ChatGPT for mix recommendations. Word of caution! High strength vinegar is acetic acid. If you get it in your eyes, trust me, you will regret it. So, in the end it gets 3 stars, good, but just average.I not telling anyone to not buy this purple stuff. It works. But I must caution you about delivery and returns. To start, I screwed up ordering "3 orders". An order consists of 6 one gal. jugs. So instead of getting 3 jugs I got 18 jugs. Needless to say, this was a serious screwup on my part, and I returned 12 jugs (2 orders). What's noteworthy is that the first two orders (12 jugs) were delivered loose. No boxes, no packing, nada. The third order was delivered in a Walmart plastic shipping bag. When I returned the 12 jugs (2 orders), I had to go to UPS Store and pay $20 bucks to return the 12 jugs. I'm posting this to remind others to make sure you check how much you order, and how it' s going to be shipped. I thought this whole process a disaster given the performance as a cleaner. Big boo-boo on my part on several levels.
