Not impressed with the singing cupcakes
This could be a cute addition to a birthday, but there are some issues. First, while I don't expect great speakers on an item like this, I found the quality to be especially bad. It doesn't dance for long, either, so you spend more time trying to get it to work vs having it do something. Also, one of the cupcake figurines, the fabric doesn't attach well to the bottom, so it's easy to see the guts of the dancing/music mechanism.

Took Me a While, But!
It’s taken me a while to get to this review because I kept forgetting to get batteries. Sigh.Okay! We got batteries, but I almost gave up trying to put them in. None of my Philips or flat screwdrivers would fit the screw. I went and found a whole bunch of them, too. None of them worked. Maybe you need one for eyeglasses? I ended up trying my jewelry pliers and I was finally able to extract the screw so I could open the battery compartment! Yay! It did take a good two minutes with pliers because they kept slipping. It takes three AAA batteries (not included). I guess it’s really safe, but really frustrating. I took a star off for the battery saga. There is no volume setting. The “on and off” switch is the black one on the bottom.Microphone Mode: It came on in this mode for me. It’s VERY sensitive to noise. Noise makes the strange “candle?” Oon the top of it’s head light up orange. Then it bounces up and down with a loud whir and repeats whatever sound was made at a slightly higher pitch. It even picks up laughter and the click of me opening my water bottle. It’s not picking up my fingers hitting the keys on my keyboard, though. The people at home got a real kick out of it and it made them laugh and smile.Music Note Mode: I couldn’t get it to change modes. It took me a while to find the buttons. They are at the bottom edge of the corduroy cupcake liner part. You should feel a click when you push it. It started out with “Happy Birthday” in Chinese? And then in English and then it was just pop songs in the same language. So there are a lot of songs, but it looks like only one in English. Most of the vocals are female but I kept clicking and there was a male singer, too.Construction: It’s really soft. I enjoy the feel of the bunny. The bottom is hard plastic so if your kid hits themselves…or some one else with the base, it will hurt. The eyes are safety doll eyes and will fit in a toilet paper roll if they are ripped out so I believe most people will think them a choking hazard. The sewing is average. There are no loose threads but the seams aren’t aligned that well.I like! It’s a lot of fun :)

What an awesome toy to celebrate a birthday!
The plush toys are quite small, but the singing and dancing features are great! I got the cow and the bunny. My girl turns 6 years old in December and I like to stay ahead when it comes to presents! 😉 They are definitely priced fairly and seem like a lot of fun for the kids.

Plays random Mandarin pop songs
Plays pop songs from China for some reason. I was expecting the happy birthday song which I get first in Mandarin and is followed by the happy birthday song in English. I actually loved this until I found out that if you click the button again, it starts playing random Chinese pop songs that are definitely not birthday songs. I clicked the button multiple times and never made it back to the birthday song. Nowhere in the description does it mention it plays anything other than the birthday song so I did have to take away stars for this. You have to turn the switch on the bottom on and off to get it to play the birthday song again. I was also not expecting this to be one of those toys that records and repeats your voice. Not a big hit with the younger hits but the somewhat older toddler enjoys it. Vibrates and moves around in a circle. I would say this is not very huggable as it does have a hard center. The cow and the rabbit are cute though. The "candle flame" also lights up which is a nice touch. I do like that it comes with a screw to keep the lid for the batteries on. Does require 3 AAA batteries which are not included. We'll still enjoy using this for birthday celebrations with the kids.

Great birthday fun!
These are actually great birthday fun. You'll need some batteries first but then these repeat everything they hear which is really fun for kiddos. Then you also have a song option, which unfortunately does not play English songs - so I deducted 1 star for that. It also has a record feature so you can store 1 message and replay it. I put a special birthday message for my son on it so he could replay it all the time. Overall unique gift and it has been hours of fun for my boys. 4 stars!
