My cat recently developed an allergy to her walnut cat litter. It was the only dust free, all natural, cost effective, litter I could find at the time. I decided to buy this sand while researching other cat litters. First, this sand HAS NO DUST. A dust free toilet is a must have for my cat and this sand fits the bill. Second, and this is also important, IT CLUMPS URINE. I initially did not expect this sand to clump at all, but I was seriously surprised that it not only clumped, but the clumps stayed relatively solid. I do need a very fine mesh scoop to get the small pieces that do break off. Overall, this is a very good sand to use as cat litter if anyone wants a dry, dust free, rock free, chemical free, clumping sand to use as litter. Highly recommend! The play sand is really soft and perfect for kids to play with—it’s clean and doesn’t have any rough or sharp bits, which I appreciate. My little one has enjoyed it a lot. For example, Home Depot sells 50 lb bags of play sand for about $6, so if you’re on a budget, you might want to shop around. Overall, good quality but be prepared to pay a premium.
