Metal grips under the rubber strip ensures a tight installation on a metal lip. .
I used this material to come up with a way to hold a plastic garbage bag in place, inside a trash compactor. I cut the roll into strips long enough for all 4 sides of the top metal frame that the bag fit inside, and these strips are pressed down holding the bag onto the top lips. This ensures the bag stays put when the compactor runs. The usage is similar to the strips that hold an above ground pool liner in place onto the pool shell., except I needed a strip material with a strong grip, and this item works perfect.

More solidly made than some-but read review
This is the heavier style door edge protector material-lined with small aluminum clips-so it adheres very tightly to my door edges. A little tricky to cut-I used a wire cutter for the interior clips and a scissor for the rubber outer sleeve otherwise your edge will look raggedy. I also found that this decreases the clearance of internal door weatherstripping-so really have to make sure I slam the doors shut with this thicker material, or doors will not close completely. The advantage is that this will definitely be more protective of door edges than the thinner rubber strips-I purchased both thinking if one didn't work out too well, the other would. I was right, I needed both styles. I also like the exterior look of this rather than the solid rubber which does look cheaper.

It should do the job, even if not what was expected from the product details
I really wanted/needed the size of the strip. I was replacing damaged stripping on a product. But the details didn't show any graphic or any specifics of height, width, depth, etc. So I ordered as best I could. The product isn't the same as the original or what I actually wanted, but at least it worked. The metal clips inside the rubber are good.

Loved it
Works great

strong but difficult to maneuver
The trim guard is very strong and super durable, I would not suggest it from sharp turns or a lot of tighter spaces. Its very difficult to work with if needing to make sharp turns.

Great quality, easy to cut and shape, protects the edges for projects.
Built a case for our video capture and streaming console at church. I wanted to protect the wooden edges of the case as we are moving/setting up this case and moving/tearing it down every week. I slid this over the edges of the 1/4 inch wooden sides on the case and it keeps them pristine and added durability to the case.
