Well constructed hoist
The structural work on the hoist is of decent quality. It is let down slightly by poor assembly instructions, due to the small scale exploded view and the referencing system on the view which is not particularly well thought out. Also some lock washers would have been a good addition together with a tube of grease to lubricate the races. However, if you are of an engineering frame of mind it is simple enough to erect. If you are not particularly aquainted with engineering drawings and practices you might want to phone a friend. All in all, it is a pretty good piece of kit and good value for money.

Good but... couple of flaws
Looks good, works fine, goes together well but the instructions are not only hopeless but some are obviously from a different model! Points to note, the smaller wheels go in the middle so they lift off the ground when the crane legs are extended for use, it can be awkward to assemble, not least because it is pretty heavy. Upside of that is that the steel is good and thick. Can't comment eyt on quality of the finish, too early.Packaging was every bit as bad as other comments have said, and delivery was spread out over two daysAlso be advised, not all of these cranes are the same, this one does not have any handles on the uprights for moving the crane around when in use, you have to manhandle the frame itself.

Ridiculous value for money.
Far better than it's price tag would indicate, as good as any £400 crane. For the money I was expecting cheap, poorly fabricated using barely adequate materials, but this is well made, properly fabricated and using decent steel sections. The ram appears to be decent quality too, but I guess time will tell how durable it's seals and valves are.

Really well made and value for money
Easy to assemble, even without the information provided. Logical design!

Works well
Took a minute or two to build, but it does exactly what is says on the tin, my only issue/gripe would be the poor quality of the metal on the hydraulic ram. Within twodayss you could see facing rust on the ram itself, does clear but it just shows the quality. Works though so happy enough with that

Ram failed.
Ram failed first time I used it, lifting 1 tonne on boom fully retracted. Maybe I was unlucky.

Will get the job done
I bought the 2 tonne version to get more reach, used it to lift a 3rd of a tonne lathe on its stand in my workshop, could of hired one I suppose but it will be useful for moving other machines, I tried it on my bandsaw first as it had a lifting hook on the top, worked no problem, think thats around 1/2 tonne. The good things are the way it packs away, easy to use and value for money. Things that could be better are the casters, a bit stiff to turn under load but my concrete floor isn't that smooth so that wouldn't help. Info states 6 swivel castors not on mine 4 swivel and 2 smaller fixed which are off the ground during use but when folded up come in to play, thing is they are splayed out causing drag, should have been swivelling.with the castors under the box section at the front its 200mm up which just worked out for me but I had to remove a lathe panel, I expect this would't be a problem if you bought it to lift an engine. The build instructions are hopeless, think mine was for a different model but I got there in the end so don't trust them. the finish isgood, the box seems a little thin in some areas, I wouldn't like to overload it. Over all it works well enough and is good value for the money. very happy with it.

An affordable way to singlehanded mount a 40kg roof tent. With an extra 'mod', this works well.
Well, needed a way to lift a 40kg roof tent on & off a Jeep Wrangler single handedly safely, that also didn't break the bank and this was 90% there. Brought the 2 ton extra weight model, as it adds to the safe usefulness, margin (At very little extra cost. Just added an extension box section to the arm & it works well! A bonus, it may even get used as an engine lift, one day... But as far as needed, this was the most cost effective route. It is also surprisingly well made for the money. Better still is that it is easily folded into a compact, small footprint for storage.
