The controller has a LED flash light at the top edge. On the probe there are 6 forward facing LEDs and one side facing LED. The buttons are NOT illuminated so if you are working in the dark you will need a separate small light to see the controls unless you get familiar enough with it to know the buttons by feel.

Should work great! I used it on cast iron plumbing and was very surprised at how well it worked. Amazing deal

Will it harm the cable or camera lens to wipe it with a clorox wipe after it has been somewhere unsanitary?

Probably not. It looks pretty durable.

When the rechargeable litium battery will no long take a charge, what next?

Check the warranty that comes with it. If the warranty has expired (depends on when u had purchased, as well as contact the seller that u bought it from), buy a new rechargeable battery to replace it.
