Not ideal on bar stool bases
Purchased to replace hard plastic protector on the bottom of four bar stools which kept coming loose. I’ll start by saying that the seller sent the goods quickly, received next day and the item seems to be of good quality, so no problems there. The edge protector looked fine, was easy to measure, cut and fix around the stool base and felt as if it was gripping tightly. One tip, I measured the length to be cut slightly bigger than the circumference of the stool base and then trimmed it to size where the ends met. You would obviously have to make sure you have enough spare length when you order to do this. The product can also stretch slightly in its length. The first thing I noticed when putting the stools down was that they didn’t slide on my tiled floor very easily, well in fact not at all. The stools felt as though they were stuck to the floor and had to be lifted into position. This is ok when your standing next to the stool and moving it but is a bit of a pain when you’re sitting on them and try raising yourself a little to slide them beneath you. It means you have to stand up each time you want to move the stool, even just a couple of inches. I know this isn’t some huge problem but, when you have to stand each time, it makes you realise how much you shuffle. The edge protector has a dimpled surface and this is the reason they don’t slide easily. In fairness to the product, the dimples have now worn a bit (on the most used stools) so they do glide a bit easier after a couple of months of use. Another problem is that, although the protector fits tightly as it’s pushed onto the edge of the stool base, they do come away in sections every few weeks or so during use. Again, this is more noticeable on the most used stools and is strange because it’s not as though the protector has worn and become loose because they still feel tight when they’re refixed. A problem I had was not picking up quickly enough that the edge protector had detached in parts from one of the stools. This resulted in some surface scratches on my large format white porcelain floor tiles which I wasn’t happy about because the tiles cost me £140 each so bit sick about that even though i managed almost to polish them out. I must admit I fished the original hard plastic protectors that came with the stools from the bin and have held onto them in case I decide to refit them. I know this edge protector is used in auto motive applications amongst others and perhaps my application on bar stool bases is not totally ideal. Also, it might work better if it was glued onto the stool edge which is something I’m think of trying on one stool to measure (against the other unglued stools) how successful that would be. Would I recommend this product? I’m not totally sure, it would depend on the intended application so I’m not advising against buying it. Would I purchase it again? No I wouldn’t if I was going to use it on bar stool bases again. Hope this review is of some help to anybody thinking of using this product.

Good quality, tight fit and good overall finish
I had a small comms cabinet (for fitting modem, router, switch etc) and the cabinet had a front door but no back, so I cut a panel out and wanted something to stop cuts on the metal edge, the metal was a fairly soft steel about 1mm thick and this trim fitted perfectly and tightly, it's quite flexible and allowed me to form it around the 90 degree angles (I did round out the corners a bit) - so for cheap price, this is a very decent product.

Works a treat to protect everyone from sharp metal edges
This was put on the edge of an aluminium rain shield and it fitted very well and easily, hasn't moved since I installed it and "just works".Makes the metal rain shield much safer against cuts. The tiny piece I had remaining I used on another metal cover, but I might just buy another full sized piece and do that properly. Not exactly cheap but does the job very well.
