Great little multi-effects unit for people fed-up wasting time having to save settings etc.
A very clever design saving you having loads of different peddles. Very easy to use even if like me you cant be bothered spending forever programing. The far right setting is a cleaner distorted sound I use a lot for more melodic solos and the second from the right is a harder distortion or you can combine them. I have had better echo units although this is more, I'd say, a pure digital delay. It's perfectly serviceable for live, but for studio I use the one in the desk instead. The reverb is a bit similar as for live it's great, but you'll not get those Fender type spring reverbs here for recording. The extra shimmer setting however is very good and can add that extra to some tracks that even the best reverb on it's own can't. It has a built in tuner that seems a touch sharp when compared to some others but for is fine as a general guide. Most lead guitars I find require some tweaking anyway unless you're lucky enough to own a four grand all singing all dancing one. Overall I'm very pleased with it as it has simplified the studio floor and provided me with a simple go to peddle you could just grab up for a gig. It has a good little gig carry bag. it's basically five peddles (including tuning) without all the separate wiring. My only one query was it has no on/off switch and is mostly sold with no mains unit. Other than that though I like it a lot.

Astonishing!
I've only used this for 2 - 3 hours so far, but I have to say, I'm amazed at the quality of the sounds from this little unit. I bought it just to mess around with, with one of my practice amps in the house - in truth not expecting a great deal, but I have to say I'm blown away by it. The noise gate is amazing, even with a ton load of gain and modulation, there's very little noise. All of the effects are pretty good. I have a custom-built effects board with all of the best effects and power supplies I could afford. The Mooer Red Truck cost a tiny fraction of this - but it holds its own ver very well! It presents superb value for money, quite frankly for such a small cost it's a no brainer - go buy one, you will smile!

Decent but the distortion isn't the greatest
The top boost is good, the OD is really good, shimmer and the other effects are really good but the distortion let's it down a bit but if you use a 2 channel amp you can get round it with the amp ramped up.

Does what is says on the tin
Basically a one box solution for a mid range analogue pedal board. Does everything is says on the tin, and does it well. The mod range boost is great! Smashing for home, but not so for gigging as you cannot load in patches for sets etc. Cool if you want to plug in and have a noodle.

quirks and faults
I have owned my Mooer Red Truck for some time so this is a review slightly past the honeymoon period. Firstly things I like:The sound is good it's clear and full without the build up of noise between pedals that can occur. The overdrive is rich and clear not unlike my Boss Blues Driver. The distortion is much more mid range but I like how it sounds like a maxed out Marshall. The delay has a wide range with 3 settings Digital; identical repeats, analog; delays lose treble over time, echo; delays lose bass over time. Reverb is decent, I like the mid and shimmer options. I like the instant tuner and option to recall preset switch combinations. Now for the negatives:The tuner is vague. I can tune a few cents flat to a few cents sharp and the tuner doesn't change. I have to fine tune with a clip on.All the delays and modulation effects rely on tapped tempo. You cannot leave a delay set for a song as when your switch off and back on you have to re-enter the tempo. There is no chorus without flanger. Even at the most subtle setting the flange comes through. Timed tremolos suffers the same fate as delay. And switching between effects means resetting the speed division as a trem always needs to be fairly rapid and a phase or chorus always much slower. The boost needs a dedicated foot switch. Otherwise it is just an amp driver. Finally, my overdrive foot switch has become erratic. It can take 3 or more hard stomps to get it to work. I have had to stop using overdrive which is not much good.
