Allows you to use attach a wireless phone charger/mount to a Proclip mount.
Got one of these to mount a wireless charger phone holder to the Proclip mount in my car and it works great. Very sturdy. I also have one in a kayak to mount a phone holder (not wireless...). It fits most phone holders that have a ball mount system.

mounted on pro clip
I used self drilling hex washer #8 9/16 in screws to mount this ball on a pro clip bracket. It is very sturdy. Used a rugged ridge phone mount. The mounting nut on the phone mount is snug and takes a good bit of pressure to grab the threads around the 17 mm ball.

Good product
This will fit the socket on the back of the newer Garmin drive GPS units. That way you can hard Mount the GPS to your dash or other bracket.

Works with most phone holders that use the 17mm ball
This AMPS adapter plate works with most phone holders that use the 17mm ball. It is made of plastic and the plate portion is a little flexy, but pretty solid once bolted onto an AMPS-equipped device.

Excellent raw material for custom mounting of a GPS navigator or other device with a 17mm ball mount
I asked for, and received, a Garmin DriveSmart GPS navigator as a birthday present this year. It comes with a suction mount, but I quickly determined that this was only suitable for mounting on the windshield, which is not a viable option in my car.I had already anticipated the need to fabricate a custom dashboard mount, but needed a 17mm ball. This appeared to be the most cost-effective option, and it did not disappoint. Once I fabricated a bracket that could be attached to the dashboard without having to drill any holes, it was a simple matter to attach this ball-mount to the bracket, with four blind-rivets.As this is designed to be attached with bolts, screws, or blind-rivets, "adhesion" is not a relevant feature.

It is a standard size for almost any ball phone holder
I got a new Avalon and from previous history was disappointed that I could never with any previous car get a phone holder that would survive along with the life of the vehicle.. so I finally found one.. I bought this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BFDFHZ9 a very solid attachment to the dash and drilled four holes through it to mate with this.. and it's amazing.. permanent phone holder (okay.. annica) or at least one that will likely last as long as the vehicle.. As almost any phone holder uses a 17mm ball, as they wear out and break, I can buy another and just plug it onto this and the Avalon holder reference above.. Awesome.. very happy with it, it's sold and I doubt it will break - though I am sure just about any phone holder will.

buy it
It's a good product, but if you put anything heavier than a basic cell phone set up on it, I suggest adding a super-tiny bit of non-slip material over the ball, to keep it from vibrating off your desired setting since it's not rubber coated like a ram ball.

Great add-on to finish your custom mount solution
This mount perfectly fit the MPOW CD slot charger cellphone holder I already had. I was able to take the holder apart and easily use the socket mount on the holder with this piece of hardware to the OTHER piece of car mount hardware I had already purchased and make my own totally custom mount. Minus one star for no included screw hardware, had scrounge around and find something that would work.
