Works well, easy installation
I’ve had this lock installed for over a year. The installation, with the included directions, was not too hard. Had to align the strike plate on the door sale, but that was the only issue in the installation. During the year I’ve had the lock installed, it has worked well in both summer and winter months. The batteries actually did last just over a year, which really surprised me. With all of the traffic going in and out of my garage door where I installed this lock I didn’t think the batteries could possibly last year.I very much enjoy the feature of autolock on the door, and I’ve had no problem at all with the fingerprint recognition. Definitely recommend this product.

5 days, so far so good
5 month update: lock works perfectly without issue and the battery life is excellent. Gateway another story... check your gateway often to be sure it's communicating well with lock, if not, exchange it. I have 2 gateways now that can support 2 locks each and one supports 2 lock almost 25ft apart. I've had other gateway that can't even support a lock 7ft away. Again test often while new and exchange it if it doesn't perform. Will save you lots of frustration. Gateways not made by Sifely and some are very sketchy connection.I have a vacation rental with a mechanical combination door lock and my property manager manually changes the code monthly. I always wanted to be able to remotely change the combination with each new guest and the code is only valid on the days the guest is staying in the unit.I started my research on what people didn't like about their smart locks, what absolutely frustrated them. And whatever bothered owners with the E models appeared to be fixed in the model X (I hope). I looked at the installation video for the Sifely X before I even bought it and that's a nice touch as it was really as easy as it was in the video. Every screw was pre-marked in its own plastic bag so you don't mixed them up.When I received this lock, I tested for 2 days to be sure all the functions work, unlock and lock from cellphone, key, finger print, combination code and smart card. No problem whatsoever. The fingerprint is very accurate as it works seamlessly. Then I tried to add a code while I was away from the house and got an error message. I tried to unlock the door and gave me error message. The error message is... must be within 2 meters of lock to perform this function. Did some more research and it turns out I need a gateway in order to do anything remotely. That wasn't clear to me when I bought it. Now questioning why isn't the unit sold with a gateway as remote management is a must or at least have 2 options, with and without gateway and explain what the difference. I didn't expect to spend additional $39 but let's see if the gateway will impress me when it arrives. If you don't need remote management of your smart lock, this lock is great... but what smart home doesn't need remote access???

Pros and Cons
I like this lock, after evaluating through many other competitors I chose this one, however, my husband is still judging it from his perspective. Below is pros & cons:Why I like it? Last night our old password e-lock battery died without any notice, my mom and I were locked out from house in a dark and cold night, with grocery’s on our hands. We were in a big trouble not able to get in our own house. After this incident, I realize I want a lock with key features:1. Backup physical key available.2. Battery level notice3. Easy to replace battery.4. Password button is solid - our old one the button started to disappear after 5 years.5. Flexible ways to change password.6. Morden quality design with a handle level. For the fingerprint functions, I am not relying on it much because living in a suburb, I know it creates a huge security issue that someone could knock you out and force your fingerprint to open the door. However, I still bought one with this feature because I may change my mind. After getting it and install it with easy, I am happy that it has many ways of opening the door: swip cards. Especially happy that we can have recording of the door opening time. I feel the flexibility of this app gave us.Now the Cons:One big issue we found it we disabled the fingerprint functions, however it still detects fingerprint. And the lock has an auto-lock after several failures. We didn’t find anywhere to change this auto-lock after failure. So what we believe is the other security bug here: it is very easy to put wrong fingerprints for three times and trigger the door locked. There should be a way to disable either the auto-lock functions or fingerprint reading functions. We may even return this if this function cause us not be able to enter the house when we need to rush in, but the fingerprint issues locked the door. Image if there is a fire, and we were locked out. We can gave our codes to firefighters, but any dummy tried their fingerprints on our door may locked the door! Indeed, the self-lock function will be reset after a few minutes. But in emergency, every minute counts.I also read other reviewers said the fingureprints don’t read and they were locked out.The biggest issues are this is a great product, it tries to do too much. Like the guest swipe cards, because if our guests lost the swipe cards, it may be hard to get a replacement.. for the reasons above, my husband is more inclined to get the Google one which does one thing but it works. However, I choose to stay with this, for the biggest pros:The PRICE is great!
