Works as advertised
Works as advertised. Best thing to brush your cat to pick up excess hair. My cat loves to be brushed.

MY DOGS LOVE THIS.
I have 3 dogs, one that sheds quite a bit. I bought this specifically for her. I started brushing her with this the first day I got it and she melted. Now when she sees the brush she jumps into my lap. The best part is, when it's time to clean out her hair, I just push the button on the back and her hair comes out quickly. I would recommend this item especially if you have a dog with fine hair since that is what my dogs have.

Helps keep my cat free from knots and furballs
My cat is a shorthaired domestic, but he has a really thick, fine undercoat, and during summer he has a hard time grooming himself (he's a big boy and kind of lazy on his self-care). Last year, he ended up with some nasty knots/mats and he didn't enjoy me combing them out. This year, as soon as he started to shed, I decided to get a slicker brush for him. This has worked really well. He doesn't mind me brushing him and it has so far kept him from developing any mats. I groom him every day as we move into summer as he's shedding a lot. There's always tons of fine hair in the slicker. I think my boy has fairly sensitive skin, and I'm glad that this doesn't seem to have irritated his skin at all. I try to be gentle, but his fur is really thick and I need to get down to the finest hairs to remove them.I've tried it on my other cat, but she doesn't have thick fur and doesn't really enjoy being brushed with it much (she prefers a damp hand). Thankfully, she doesn't really need to be groomed the same way my boy cat does. It's easy to clean the fur off this one, and overall it's been good so far. I do need to clean it out every day (or even twice) to keep it working. It's generally easy to do, but the button can be a touch wonky (but not enough to be a major problem). None of the little protectors on the ends of the bristles have come off yet. I'd definitely recommend it for cats with thick fur.Tip: If you have flat-weave carpets that are difficult to get fine cat hairs off of, try gently going over them with this before vacuuming. I found it effective on some woven (not tufted) rugs I have.

Beyond Expectations
I trapped a cat from the woods who was visiting for food in March of 2019 and took a month to tame him. He is a great office-only cat but we don't know his background butcept that he appears to be an Orange American Shorthair. He sheds like crazy ... I grew up with Siamese. After many many trials with sticky rollers I bought this brush with extremely low expectations. THIS BRUSH IS GREAT. The cat loves it to my surprise ... maybe he compares it to me shopvaccing him. I bought it at about $6 with no freight since I order throughout the week for my business. I've seen it up around $8 or $9. But $6 unknown is well worth $9 knowing what a great brush it is. - I trap cats, tame them and give them to my customers who ask for them. From now on it will be "brush included."

Just OK
While brushing, you can expect the cat hairs to be flying all around and everywhere but in the brush. It seems to somewhat work for defluffing, but I have to lent roller my cat (multiple sheets), and the area around where we brushed when I finish. It’s messy and allergy inducing - I was hoping to reduce the amount I lent roller my cat - and this product does not do that.

Far exceeded expectations
I was skeptical but I needed a replacement brush because we lost ours. I have a short haired and a medium haired cat with very different personalities. Not only did they both love being brushed with it, it quickly and easily removed so much matting and loose hair.It was great at getting to the undercoat. I had no idea there was so much loose hair on them. WOW. I also like that the tines have tips to protect their skin. Cleaning out the tines was as simple as pushing a button - cleaned the entire thing immediately. It was comfortable to hold in my hand with a rubber grip on the handle. The surface was the right size for the cats. This brush feels very sturdy and likely to last years. The button is not loose at all and I don't fear it breaking. This far exceeds our previous brushes and the price was great.

My cat enjoys our pulling out tons of his undercoat
When I saw an ad for this brush, the ease of cleaning the comb attracted me to buy it. Now, actually using it, leads me to share this good news. (I am not a frequent writer of reviews.) The little tips on the wire bristles are comfortable on my cat's skin, not irritating. No other pet brush gets to this level of good design.I put him on a new cat food that doesn't upset his delicate tummy (Purina One Tender Selects), and he got plump. His coat got shiny and his undercoat grew TOO DENSE, and shedding too endlessly. A comfy comb that he circles back to me for in our brushing sessions is coming to our rescue. Already in two days we've gotten out most of the seriously matted clumps out and filled a wastebasket to an impressive amount, and still the brush finds more. I hope our experience will help other healthy cat households.
