Silipos 10845 Gel Tubing Ankle Sleeve, 3" x 10"

This review was NOT solicited in any way; it is based on actual family experience with the product.I've used these for years for my family: on kids' ankles inside their figure skates while they were competetive, and under wrist/hand brace to reduce friction. Well made, long lasting, they wash well in mild soap, and I can soak these regularly overnight in vinegar to prevent yeast or fungus growth. If you're looking for gel tubing to reduce friction, Silipos makes a range of great products.

I had a skin flap taken, followed by a split thickness skin graft, and in the first year or so, the area will be quite dry and delicate. This sleeve works great for me with about 2” cut off with very sharp scissors. It keeps my graft moisturized and flattens out some of my more easily irritable thicker scarred areas. It also makes my graft feel more protected, as the sleeve has a good amount of soft silicone-like material that adds more padding and makes accidental bumps feel less weird. Would definitely recommend for anyone who has had any sort of skin graft or flap taken from an arm or lower leg! The only complaint I have is the edges tend to roll/curl up a bit with time and use but my first sleeve lasted me about 3/4 months before that became annoying/an issue. It definitely helps to keep the ziploc bag it comes in to clean and then store it when you’re not wearing it.

I love this product! I cut this in half so I had a pair to use in my figure skates to stop all the chafing where the edges of my boot tongues would rub my skin raw. This certainly does the job! No more irritation! It gets a little misshapen after my practice session, but it goes back to normal in a few hours. I hope that this product will last me a long time, but with the low pricing, I'm not incredibly concerned.The only con would be that the gel isn't the same thickness throughout the entire tube. It's thinner on the end with the blue writing.

I originally bought these to protect against shin bang while skiing as I got a horrible case of it on my last ski trip. When my daughter shins above her ankles, around where the top of the skate boot grips the leg, started hurting after a 3 hour session of figure skating, she decided to try them out.This product improves the fit of my daughters figure skates. It protects the shin and the malleoli and is not bulky. She can tie them up as tight as possible and her ankles and shins don't hurt after figure skating.If you skate, you know that walking off the ice with skates on is uncomfortable, at the least. But this product decreases that discomfort considerably.

Incredibly disappointed in this product. I have ordered this item before and had a good experience. I needed new ankle cushion pads for figure skating so I reordered. I cut this in half to create one for each ankle and the cushioning is SO THIN that I had sore pressures points on my ankles after just skating for 20 minutes. A complete waste of money. I am not sure what is going on with this -- I would like to return but not sure I can since it's been cut. Don't waste your money on this if you need true cushion protection for skating.

Hard to find item that is useful for facilitating maturation and pliability of post-surgical wrist scars. It addresses the circumstantial aspects of wrist injuries that most people forget to think about.Just cut it into 2 equal cylinders for economical long-term scar management.

These are just as good of a quality of some of the more expensive gel tubes. I wear them in my figure skates to help take up space around my ankles and so my skates don't rub my ankles. The tubes are long so you can cut them in half for two ankle gel sleeves. These last a long time with frequent use. Very happy with these!
