Great for people or pets
Jail for inside of a hard case, throw it in the microwave or in the freezer to warm or cool my mother uses it to warm up in the microwave and stick in her bed like those old time bed pans to warm the sheets stops her legs from cramping and aching

Keeps my senior kitty warm for hours!
I bought this for my senior Siamese Kitty, who was constantly seeking out my body heat. I microwave this for five minutes then let it sit for one minute, put on the cover then slide it under his bed at the foot of my bed. He is so excited to climb in every night and now I sleep better because he’s not constantly on top of me! It takes 12 to 14 hours to get completely cold and ready to microwave again. This is more than enough time to keep him sleeping warmly through the cooler nights in the winter. I think it would be too hard/uncomfortable for most kitties to lay directly on, but if put beneath a soft blanket or bed, a heat-loving kitty will just love it! Good value for the money, and I don’t have to worry about risks with an electric heating pad or bed.

Amazing long lasting product
I rarely write reviews but this has been such a great product that I wanted to give it a shout out. I adopted two 10 week old kittens 3 years ago and bought one of these on the recommendation of YouTube's KittenLady in preparation for their arrival. I like my place cold (around 65 degrees) and wanted them to have something warm to snuggle up to at night as I keep them out of my bedroom when I'm sleeping due to being a very light sleeper and having some insomnia. It's been a hit ever since they arrived and 3 years later I still heat up one for each of my cats (purchased a second one when they got bigger and started sleeping in separate beds sometimes) every night before bed. I almost always find them sleeping on them in the morning and the discs still warm. I've had no issues with leakage or damage in all that time, they still look like they did when I got them. I do wrap them in a light blanket just for extra insulation and I did purchase some replacement covers for them off Etsy about a year ago (the seams on the original cover were starting to come apart) but the disc itself has held up with no visible wear even with daily use over 3 years. I highly recommend!

Works, but it’s hard
I got this for my kitty go bag here in fire hazard country. It’s a very hard firm surface, but warms up nicely in the microwave and holds the heat well. The pictures on the product show it going in the microwave with the cover on it, but it says to heat it up without the cover.

Excellent idea. It’s my feral cat colony warm during the cold nights
I bought multiple of these to keep the feral cat colony warm during the winter. I heat them up in the microwave at dinner time and wrap them in self warming cat blankets so they stay warm longer. They keep the feral cats warm through the night and are still kind of warm in the morning. I highly recommend.

Warm your kittens, your feet, your betta, you name it...
Updated review (2025):Still five stars. In the winter, I use one every night in bed so I don't have to wear socks. When I'm sick, I hug one to my chest like Ironman's synthetic heart. They're unbelievably durable, too! Of the several I've bought over the years, the only time one wore out was when I accidently pressed an extra digit on the microwave and discovered the error ten minutes in... try not to do that. But with normal use, they will last years and years!Wait, these were supposed to be for kittens? I almost forgot! But when kittens come by, I'm willing to share...Updated review (2021):Amazon tells me that I have now bought seven of these. I believe it. I recently sent a second one for my mom, for her feral cat, a few years ago I got one for another relative, as a foot-warmer, and I yesterday bought a fourth one of my own. Now that the weather is colder, I warm up two every day for my barn cats, I use one as a foot-warmer every night when I sleep, and i just realized yesterday that I could use a fourth one to gently warm my betta's tank. I had spent hours researching small aquarium heaters, but couldn't find one that hadn't overheated at some point and boiled someone's fish. I didn't want to take that risk. Then it occurred to me that these disks don't have to be heated until they're hot, they can also be warmed very gently, so that placing one adjacent to my betta's tank would warm his water a few degrees without the danger of overheating it. It's working well so far. It's a little more fussy and labor intensive than an immersive heater, but I'm already heating up three stones every day in the microwave; another one is no big deal! Also, these stones (I call them stones, since they are very similar to the wood-stove-heated soapstone slabs I grew up with) seem to hold up well with years of daily use. I do see some reviews from people who had unfortunate accidents, but I've used one or more almost every day for well over a decade now, and never had any problems!Previous review:According to Amazon, I bought mine in 2008. I can't believe I haven't reviewed it before now. This unassuming object is just about one of my favorite things ever. I initially bought it for its intended purpose when I was fostering kittens. But after the kittens were gone, I realized that I might be able to use it myself. I always get cold feet when I sleep but I hate wearing socks in bed. When I was a kid and we had a wood stove, I used to use one of those nineteenth-century soapstone footwarmers. They are wonderful, but without a wood stove it is a hassle to try to heat them up properly. For years after that I relied on hot water bottles, but their tendency to leak is annoying, and they don't retain heat very well. After I started using the Snugglesafe disc for the kittens, I realized that it was the perfect modern successor to the antique soapstone footwarmers I loved so much. Now I bring it to bed every night during cool weather, and never suffer cold feet. After years of heavy use it is still going strong, though I've worn out two covers and now just wrap it in a flannel pillowcase.

This is the original
I have been using it for a few days and it’s has been awesome. We found 2 new born kittens abandoned by mom. It helps me keep them warm and they love it. I will definitely buy more in the future if needed.
