Misophonia Relief!!! Don’t waste your time with others!
I recently have been having a horrible time with Misophonia! Like having to walk away during dinner due to sounds and realizing I am having trouble concentrating at work from all the random sounds like ac/ computer fan/ background conversations etc. So I went down a search for some possible solutions. I did not want big noise cancelling head seat but also do not want my ears to be in pain always. There were lots of suggestions so I decided to purchase several for a side my side comparison.1. Flare- honestly I am not sure what to think I though half of them were missing. Think the caps of earbuds (like the extra ones the include for different sizes). I have a strong feeling the design over time would help reduce the sound but I am thinking more of you just need a little help.2. Loop (experience): the loop design is supposed to mimic your ear canal bug also help with sound blocking. They did block the sound but a little too much. I tried them a few times thinking they would be good but they caused my interns sounds such as heart beat and movements in my mouth to be extremely amplified! If hearing those do not trigger you they are a good option but for me too big of an issue.3. Silicon noise canceling ear plugs from A brand on Amazon with very high reviews. I am not sure if I got a knock off or if not what I am looking for but while not bad not worth the price for me since I don’t need just regular earplugs. I will say though that they did irritate my ears a bit.4. The last purchase and the one I am keeping is of course these. I originally was not looking at these but on a forum someone mentioned looking into ear plugs for musicians so I did and found some suggestions towards this brand. I honestly thought I would like these the least with the multiple step down plug design but as designed they feel fabulous in my ears. Comfortable but secure. Also the non “shell” part Aka the blue part of mine truely is a filter of sound. I can still hear people talk and sounds but it really calms the outside world. I can tell it is not a gimmick but actual science and engineering. I will admit I was a little afraid they would get stuck in my ears but after I got more comfortable I find myself seeing how helpful they are to me I more and more daily situations. And while I can feel they are there the are so very comfortable! This was the most expensive of the ones I bought but worth every penny. I do not know about actual dB blockage but they filter out life the perfect amount for me! (Oh and I cannot hear my heartbeat with them in). So yeah the world is just a little bit easier with these in my life and I am thankful for that! Now off to buy at least 1 more pair so I can have them easily available! (Even though I will say the carrying case is great with its hook) I just want one for my work bag, one for my purse, and maybe one just for home!

But honestly, the blue filters look great, so it’s not a big deal.

Metallica Concert? No Problem!!!!
These came in about a week ago - I picked up a pair for me and a pair for my 17 year old son. Upon ordering them I was immediately contacted by Ryan - letting me know they got my order and they would be shipping them out - and adding that if I have any problems to let him know - You see - they believe in old school customer service/satisfaction.Once they arrived, I was impressed with the case, and the fact that they came with two different buds to fit to your ears - I had to swap mine out for the second set for a better fit, my son did not. Again I was contacted by Ryan checking to make sure everything was OK with the order . . .Last night we had ultimate test of these little things - Metallica kicked off their 2017 World Wired Tour in Baltimore with Volbeat and Avenged Sevenfold as their opening acts . . . I am over 50, have tinnitus in both ears as well as hearing loss - so I was concerned about the noise levels . . . These passed the test with Flying ColorsTest One: Getting a 17 year old to put these on and keep them on throughout a 6 hour showResults: Passed - He actually did take them out at the start of Nothing Else Matters - you know where it is nice and soft - He said he thought "This isn't so bad" Then they started rocking it and he was "Whoa better get these back in!" and put them back in - He said he could still hear everything and it was still an amazing show.Test two - Intermission conversationsResults - Passed -I left them in during most of the intermissions between the acts - and was able to have normal conversations with my son and those around usTest three - The post show conversationsResults - Passed - While a lot of the people around us were yelling to be heard over the ringing in their ears - he and I talked in normal tones - His ears weren't ringing - mine weren't ringing any more than they normally do . . .Test four - Comfort and FitResults - Passed - They pretty much stayed on for 6 hours - I never felt them slip or feel like they going to fall out . . . and they were easy to pull out by just grabbing the tab. They also are very unobtrusive - I had to ask my son a couple of times if he still had his in because I couldn't see them . . . each time I asked he would turn his head and show me that they were still in . . .I still have one more test for them - that will come Memorial Day weekend - I will be riding over 2,000 miles on my motorcycle - which means a couple of 8 - 10 hour days in the saddle - I will see how they fit and feel, and how much wind noise they block while letting the music and conversations flow through my helmet speakers. If they pass this test, they will be permanently affixed to my bike's keychain . . .I was a little reluctant to spend $25 on a pair of ear plugs - But I am now Happy - VERY happy I did . . .*********** UPDATE June 2, 2017 *************These are fantastic for motorcycle use!! I put just under 3,000 miles on my bike since getting these. They go in and stay in and are comfortable enough for all day use (I had to check on them from time to time to make sure they were still there). More importantly, after a long day of riding - I did multiple 350 - 535 mile days - I took these puppies out and could hear. They block out the wind noise that damages your hearing. I ride with a half helmet - My bike's communication and audio systems are routed to helmet speakers. In the parking lot, these do mute the music a bit, but on the highway - I can hear the music and communications better because they eliminate the competing wind noise that usually over powers the music. I found that my ride was far more relaxing and enjoyable with these and will use them and my helmet speakers all the time now, not just when riding two up or in groups. In the past when riding solo, I routed the music to the bike's 4 external speakers - yeah the neighborhood could hear me coming - now they will just hear me signing along off key as I ride . . .Another bonus - the case - I have had other ear plugs in plastic cases - when it goes in your pocket or sits on the bike - they get hot and bend or deform making them difficult to close and seal. This case is solid and keeps the ear plugs safe. It has found a permanent home on my motorcycle's key ring . . .Thank You Eargasm!
