Very reliable and worth the investment.
They are extremely easy to install and set up. The adhesive pads are top quality. While the door is open it beeps every few seconds so you can verify it is working every time you open the door. When the designated time expires it gives a very loud horn. We bought these after we found a freezer in the garage with the door cracked open. I hope to never again have that happen. The alarms are a true bargain since they work so reliably.

Simple operation and seems to work
Our basement fridge is great. What isn’t so great is when someone closes the top freezer and something keeps it from closing all the way (but the person doesn’t notice). Or when someone closes the bottom fridge too hard and the freezer pops open a bit as a result. Having had to toss food that costs more than this little alarm costs, it was a no brainer. I mounted the small part to the bottom of the freezer door and the big part to the top of the fridge door. It makes a beep whenever either is opened.I tested each sound setting and decided that the loudest setting was needed to be able to hear anything coming from the basement room (two doors and stairs in between). I didn’t want to get a WiFi enabled alarm because that is more complex and would likely chew through batteries too. Perhaps if the manufacturer wanted to make a plus model that synched to an auxiliary alarm that could be kept in the living area (with the idea that both go off) it could be a good addition.Nevertheless, for my use case… simply letting someone know that the fridge or freezer door isn’t closed after a minute and for every minute after… this is a good item so far. The fact that it beeps every 10 seconds is good because it is a reminder that the door is open even when you want it open to put things away. I feel like that reminder alone is likely to prevent half the issues we had.It is a good and simple item. Easy to use. Does exactly what is advertised.

Easy to install. Works well but wish alarm sound was even louder
Works very well. Very, very simple to install. However I do wish the alarm sound was louder as the freeze is in the garage and with TV on still hard to hear. But better than no alarm at all!

Works great Not obnoxiously loud
This device is perfect for my frig. A very soft beep let's you know that the door was just opened. After about a minute, the beep gets louder but not like smoke alarm loud, loud but not obnoxious

Great engineering...it is more than a simple alarm. Super loud at its apex.
This thing is LOUD...when it reaches it's apex. Those who say it is NOT probably don't understand what this product is for. What this is NOT: An alarm that loudly goes off whenever the door is opened. What this product IS: An alarm that goes off AFTER AN INITIAL TIME PERIOD to let you know the door is ajar/open. In other words it is NOT a alarm to prevent people from opening a fridge and stealing your prized piece of cake. Thank God (or the engineers) it is not. That would drive me crazy to hear a loud noise every time the fridge is opened. It works like this...when you open the door, a VERY QUIET, almost imperceptible beep sounds. It keeps going off quietly like this every 6 seconds. But the excitement builds. After a minute has passed a brief LOUD beep sounds. Oh I'm feeling it now! But we are just starting! The loud beep keeps happening every minute! Oh the joy! The anticipation keeps building and after three minutes pass a LOUD CONTINUOUS BEEP occurs! Please don't stop now! Keep going, keep going! After 4 minutes the loud continuous beep reaches its climatic crescendo and becomes a SUPER LOUD continuous beep. Ok stop stop stop I'm done...I need to catch my breath. So you close the door to turn it off or slide the switch on the side. And abandon the fridge to go back to your own bed alone so you can sleep.Did I tell you there are 4 loudness settings as well? And you can simply turn it off if you are going to clean your fridge at it will take longer than a few minutes.

do not buy, poor performance, bad design
I'm sorry to say that this freezer alarm deserves no more than one star. I had high hopes, but it fell short in numerous ways:Firstly, if you plan to install it in a basement or garage, your only hope of hearing an alarm is to set it to mode 4. Even then, it's far from reliable.Even when the unit is "in alarm" mode, it hardly makes any noise. This means that in a real event, you might not even notice it's sounding an alarm. When installed in a basement or garage, and despite setting it to mode 4, the unit's volume is disappointingly low. The fact that it doesn't continously make any noise while in alarm mode makes it likely that you won't hear the alarm when it matters most. You practically need luck on your side for it to be effective during an open-door event. One of the reasons for this lackluster performance is that the speaker faces downwards towards the installation surface, and the installation tape partially obstructs it. Even if you manage to install it with the speaker in free air, it still doesn't produce a sufficiently loud sound. Again, luck seems to be a crucial factor here.If you happen to have other appliances like a washer, dryer, or TV running in the background, the odds of hearing this alarm are slim to none.Furthermore, the decision to use smaller 'coin' batteries to keep the unit small is not practical. More commonly available AA batteries would have been far more convenient. To make matters worse, changing the batteries requires a tool, which is an unnecessary hassle.Considering the high price tag and the disappointing sound performance, I cannot recommend this product at all.Save your money and look for a more reliable freezer alarm option. This one simply doesn't live up to its promises.
