The Walking Dead Book 16 (WALKING DEAD HC)

The end has come, and although great overall, I just can't help feeling the last book was a little bland. This may have been due to Negan?

Absolutely spectacular ending to one of my favourite series on earth, I cried multiple times during this book and I probably will when I read it again someday.

This is the 16th and final volume of the famed zombie apocalypse series. The first 4 or 5 volumes were excellent, with the later volumes being a bit hit and miss by comparison. Unfortunately, many of the lesser characters are fairly two-dimensional, bringing little to the party. Kudos, however, should go to Kirkman for finishing the series in the way that he did, which went to the degree of advertising fake covers for future issues to keep the ending a secret. Many are disappointed with the way that things did end, but it was at least in keeping with the unpredictable nature of the book.Over all, the series was great, and worth checking out for any fan of apocalyptic horror.As an aside - check out 'The Walking Dead - the Alien' which features Rick Grimes' brother in a tale that expands on the Walking Dead universe in a way that the regular series did not.Series as a whole 4.5/5 = This volume 3/5
