A fun and informative delivery of world lore
Our son just turned six and he can’t get enough of this book, although it’s written so it can be enjoyed by older kids and I think it will remain a favor for years as he starts getting the different levels of storytelling and humor. The writing and illustrations really make the stories approachable for kids (and some of the more convoluted plot lines are actually more fun to follow as an adult too). The illustrations are really funny and the use of subtle to overt humor (and the occasional poop joke) makes it all very inviting.

Very Fun Book Covering Gods & Heroes From A Variety Of Cultures
My 9 year old daughter was getting very interested in the classic Greek gods and became fascinated about learning about heroes and gods in cultures all over the world. This books does a great job of covering a very wide variety of cultures with respect and in an enjoyable manner. The art accents the text and makes it fun to browse while the text goes into enough detail to be exciting. My daughter has brought this book to school a number of times and her teacher even used parts of it during discussions about various myths. Greatly recommend this book!

Best Mythology Book EVER!!!!!!!!!!
I really liked this book. They had a lot of information about mythology, from many different countries. And they read it off from a encyclopedia in a boring way. They phrased like you are actually talking to someone. And they have a lot of pictures which are very cute. I think u should read this if u want to learn about mythology, big or small or if u r going to learn about different cultures as a job. - Lia Anoop🦄💐🌸🏵🌹🐅🐐🐍🐉

We LOVE this book!
Bought this for my kid who loves to read and is curious about the world around her. We wanted something that helps explain how people all over the world have different views of Gods/religion/creation/etc and yet how their ends up being a lot of similarities and patterns to beliefs. This book does a great job of being very interesting with a lot of information. Fun writing style and not overly long descriptions. Easy to sit down and read about one or two gods, or stay a while and plow through a bunch. Love everything about this book and it was perfect for our 2nd grader.

Great intro to myths, but some drawbacks
This is a great book. My 5 years old loves it when I read them aloud, but it is probably more appropriate for a slightly older age. As some have mentioned, there are higher level vocabulary words, and there are also some darker themes that exist in the myths (death, monsters, affairs). That part doesn't bother me as much as the inconsistent pronunciation guides. For example, Aphrodite and Odin are given pronunciation guides but Amaterasu and Njord aren't. In fact, most aren't given guides, and with introducing so many different gods and heros, I would love to know how to pronounce them correctly.

Would have loved to have had this as a kid
This book is so cool! I bought it to read to my kids and they love it! There are a huge variety of mythological beings, many of which I had never even heard of. I love the illustrations on each page and the aesthetic of the book overall. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Great and engaging
I bought this for my 10 year old son. He loves it. The pictures are colorful and the variety of cultures they pulled stories from is better than most books we've seen. It's been a great jumping off point for studying geography and cultures around the world.

Fun, nicely illustrated and covers an impressive range of dieties
Organized, well illustrated and stories are told in a fun, engaging way. Covers Celtic, Shinto, pan-African and the usual cast of classical mythologies. The chapter about the misadventures of Poseidon got a chuckle out of me. It's a great way to introduce your kids to mythology without of the less appropriate interfering.
