Simple and effective
I wish I knew about this sooner! I lost my last stud finder and even when I had it, the thing was so wide and required some weird sized battery that I don’t typically have around. Then I’d only use it once and either lose it in moving boxes or the battery would be dead.My favorite thing about the StudBuddy is that it doesn’t need a battery! Also, the slim, vertical design is ergonomic and perfect for its use. I can’t wait to mount my TVs now!

Simple, Reliable, and Made in the USA – Perfect for Everyday Use!
The StudBuddy Magnetic Stud Finder is a straightforward, reliable tool that gets the job done without any fuss. Its simplicity is its strongest feature—no batteries or complicated settings required. Just glide it along the wall, and the strong magnet quickly identifies screws or nails in studs. I’ve used it for hanging shelves and artwork, and it’s consistently pinpointed studs behind drywall and wood paneling.I appreciate that it’s made in the USA and feels durable in hand. While it won’t replace electronic stud finders for heavy-duty projects, it’s perfect for quick tasks and avoids the frustration of false readings. For anyone needing an affordable, no-nonsense tool for everyday household use, the StudBuddy delivers.

Face the stud finder vertical for more accuracy!
This is a magnet, meaning that it will find the nails that keep your stud in place. Find the nail, then you find the stud. Don't be confused about what this can do. I've used this to mount a TV and perform several other house projects, here are my tips/thoughts:1. Studs run up and down the wall and are normally spaced 16 or 24 inches apart. When the magnetic stud finder connects with a nail, make sure it is vertical to the ground in order to get a better visual of house the stud is running through your wall.2. It's a strong magnet so there shouldn't be any issues finding the nails, but just remember that you should REALLY feel the magnetic pull. I take the stud finder in one hand and "wipe" the wall like I'm cleaning a large window. It should lurch in place, and you shouldn't be thinking "I think that's it", you will know.3. Value for money is great, ease of use is great. Accuracy takes some getting used to, but after I put the first couple screws in for my TV mount, I got a lot more confident and haven't missed the stud yet.

Great Customer Service and Easy to Use
This is the easiest tool I’ve ever used. It’s small, bright yellow, and easy to find. I leave it on the wall when I’m not using it. It did break after a while, but the manufacturer sent me a new one without any hassle. Great customer service!

Great for screws but didn’t work on older nails
This works great if it’s a newer house with drywall that was hung with screws. I tried it on a closet in my house that was hung with nails, built in the 70’s, and this couldn’t find anything. Overall I still like it but it will only work in about 50% of the house.
