Ringo's best solo album.....
Ringo's best solo album, IMHO. I had the vinyl when it first came out, and recently purchased this cd. The cd has some bonus tracks, including It Don't Come Easy, a great Ringo/George Harrison tune (although George was uncredited). Highly recommended to Ringo/Beatles fans.

Probably Ringo Starr's Best Album
Can't really speak much to what Ringo has put out since the 70s, but the 1973 Ringo Album was probably the best collections of tunes he put out on one album back in the 70s. The tracks on this album have a number of wonderful contributions from Ringo's fellow Beatles.

Great recording and a favorite Ringo CD
We started listening to our old Beatles CDs again after watching the movie Yesterday, decided to check out the CDs for each individual Beatle. Love Ringo the most with his strong voice and upbeat songs. Every CD of his, so far, has been great. You have good classics here such as Photograph and It Don't Come Easy.If you like Ringo's style buy this one, you won't regret it.

Really the Beatles' last album
I was interested in purchasing this album after hearing that all four Beatles not only composed tunes for it but performed on it. Not all of the songs were winners but there were some gems, including Photograph, Your Sixteen and others.

Ringo at his best
I had bought this cd when it first came out as an album and wanted to be able to listen to it again. Great memories and great music. I highly recommend this cd.

Rings and the Beatles!
His third solo album, feels like a beatles reunion album, because in many ways it is! All four beatles helped write, perform and produce the songs on this, perhaps Ringo’s greatest solo work.

Among the Best of the 70s
Ringo couldnt always get the Magic Three to contribute this thoroughly, but l think with better songs and production, he could have made a few more just as good as this.

One of the 1970"s Best!
Yeah, Ringo was the "limited" Beatle, his singing was, at best, serviceable, and his drumming would not rank as journey-level Sheila E! But, this 1973 release stills ranks as one of the 1970's best pop albums. Richard Perry, the then red-hot producer, has surrounded Ringo (nee Richard Starkey) with his former bandmates Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison, Tom Scott's masterful arrangements, Billy Preston's keyboarding, and even Martha Reeves and Linda McCartney on background vocals. With songwriting duties performed by Starr himself, as well as a young Randy Newman, Harrison and Lennon, the album blends novelty numbers, MOR, and two "rockers" where the band just "cuts up." Highlights are "Photograph," "You're Sixteen (You're Beautiful and You're Mine)," "Oh, My, My," and "Devil Woman." The last cut on the original album was "You and Me (Babe)," one of those songs whereby the singer acknowledges all the "help" received. This is appropriate because without assistance the album would not have been as successful commercially and artistically as it was. The remastered version features the addition of three cuts, one of which is Starr's hit "It Don't Come Easy." These "extras" were not necessary because the album holds its own in its original form. Almost three decades later, Ringo still is a STARR!

Arise Sir Ringo.you deserve it.for this L.p. & more
Have had this album, first on vinyl and now on cd,in my life since 1981 - to be precise:And it's certainly a worthy addition to my record collection. The 1973 release of Ringo; had Richard Perry producing, contributions from:John Lennon,George Harrison,Paul & Linda Mc cartney - no less.along with Marc Bolan,The Band,Klaus voorman,Billy Preston,Harry Nilsson,Nicky Hopkins - get the picture!Ringo and his pals all make wonderful contributions in the making of this amazing album. The opening track:I'm the greatest,is i'm sure a tongue in cheek resume of Ringo's life up till that point.written by John Lennon - who contributes harmony vocals and piano,as well as George Harrison,Klaus voorman and Billy preston;this is very nearly a Beatles reunion in the studio (guess who's missing?).The fine form continues with next track: the brass laden; Have you seen my baby standing in the shadow - a Randy Newman composition. The singles: photograph (marvelous sax solo by Bobby Keys),and Your sixteen are also excellent inclusions.one of the bonus tracks: Down and out,is interspersed among the original track listing, which works perfectly,i'd say.The fine form continues with the jolly: Oh my my,with backing vocals from the then much in demand session singer: Merry Clayton; the country music of Sunshine life for me,featuring The Band (minus Robbie Robrrtson); then the dreamy Six o'clock, with the McCartney's lending their hands - can't spot any flaws up to now folks! The jazzy,Step lightly with clarinets in there somewhere, with Ringo tap dancing no less. The rocky: Devil woman is up next, then the reflective closing track on the original album: You and me babe.this is Ringo thanking everyone who contributed to the album, through singing and his talky bit at the end.a very nice gesture and it works without being too syrupy.Cheers Ringo, you are a Star(r) - geddit!P.s.nearly forgot: the cd's last two songs are the bonus tracks; It don't come easy (brilliant song) and it's b side Early 1970.P.P.S.the production:courtesy of Richard Perry,is excellent throughout - so is the sound quality.all done for now - thanks for your time.

Love Ringo! Great fun. Beautiful artwork.
Love Love Love. Ringo - and talented trio of John, Paul and George - plus Nilson, Klaus, Bolan, Randy Newman and most of The Band all chipping in. No, not that band! This is however an historic album as it is the nearest the Beatles ever came to recording in a studio together. It has a very american sound to the production which was done by the late, great, Richard Perry.Had the vinyl in 1973 and the lovely artwork booklet by Klaus, also included here. Nothing not to like here and a few tracks to love. Particularly I would highlight Photograph, composed by the duo of Starr/Harrison. There are also some good bonus tracks on this version, albeit they could have dropped the last song and replaced it with Back Off Boogaloo but that is a minor quibble.

His greatest album.
Hello, for years I have had the old L.P. of this album by Ringo, I always treasured the sketch book inside and also the fact that it was a Beatles reunion of sorts has John, Paul and George all contributed. So, my opinion only, but I rate this above all other Ringo albums so if you are missing this classic L.P. buy it now on the remastered C.D. Hope this is helpful to you, Deano.
