Updated - Not bought from amazon - product review only
full disclaimer, Order for the "seller refurbished" unit was not described as being for the A50 (the "used" is) therefore was expecting a A50+. I received a A50 instead. I promptly started the return process and as at today (11/09/2022 - ordered 24/08/2022 and returned within less than a week) I am yet to receive a refund. Now that I got this out of the way you can make an informed decision as to what to order. the A50 and A50+ are very different.Anyway, I ended up buying from an online retailer outside of Amazon for a bit more money. in all there are reviews online that are available for this item and i agree with them, it s a great wee amp!the remote is not good, i feel like an extra fiver would have given us a better finish.there are a couple of things i dont like though:1 - start up time... it s about 30 sec to a minutes to grab wifi.2 - not gapless, which i knew, but there are odd intrusions of gap within tracks, which i was not expecting.things I like:1 - the power! it s hard to fathom how something that small can actually ooze so much power. I use mine in my bedroom with a CD player and a pair of Q Acoustics 3020 and it sounds way beyond the £159 i paid for it.2 - I/O - in my set up i have CD and TV hardwired to the unit and i have the option to hook a sub later (hence my A50+ choice and return attempt).3 - size - until you see it you cannot picture how small it is. it s solid, small and well build.yes it s a limited setup but for some use case it s just the right thing, I highly recommend it.Update 15/07/2023 - this unit is now a bit faster to start but most importantly is now gapless!!! Easily 5 star now.

Fussy setup but great after that
I bought this to power my ceiling speakers. I had a bit of problem setting up the WiFi at first, probably my WiFi was being fussy but setup instructions not that clear.Once set up the sound and control is great. I ended up setting up an alexa flex with a 3.5mm jack so I can control everything via alexa.Well worth the money

Find of the year!
I was looking for something to replace my Sony hifi and came across the A50 receiver in my Amazon searches. I kept my 80w Sony speakers and hooked up this little beauty. When I say beauty, I’m speaking metaphorically as its not much to look at, it’s just a plain aluminium box. You also don’t actually appreciate how small it is until it lands on your front door but boy does it it have a lot of tricks up its sleeve. Airplay, Bluetooth, internet radio,DLNA all either via your WiFi or lan and an 80 watt punch. Set up is easy using the 4STREAM app. Don’t use any other app like Muso as it I found out from a very helpful Tech support; the A50 is designed to work with 4STREAM. The app found the music on my NAS straight away no problem. Everything works perfectly well as described on the box. The only thing I haven’t tried is the multiple A50 sync up but that’s only a matter of time as I am so impressed with this , I’m sure I’ll be expanding my network. The sound is as good as my old Sony which was pretty good. I found the remote to be handy but limited, useful if you want to listen to your preset radio stations when your iPad isn’t nearby. I have had this unit for two weeks and I have been very impressed, I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone with spare speakers and a small budget - a real find!

Poor sound quality from USB & DNLA/UPNP (LAN or WiFi)
Arylic A50 works well if you just want a bluetooth amplifier. However, sound quality is really poor for network sound sources and USB. I tried the same files (MP3, FLAC and WMA formats) by several different methods:- Bluetooth audio from my phone - This works perfectly- Line input from my phone (i.e. 3.5mm jack cable) - This worked perfectly too- Using the official 4Stream UPnP app by Wifi and LAN - Poor sound quality in both cases- Using BubbleUPnP as the sound source by Wifi and LAN - Poor sound quality in both cases- Using a QNAP NAS as the sound source by LAN - Poor sound quality- By putting the files on a USB stick and plugging diredtly into the USB port on the A50 - Poor sound qualityTo be fair, the MP3 file worked slightly better than FLAC or WMA, but in all cases, there were continuous glitches and stuttering, lots of "digital artefacts" superimposed on the sound and really bad muffling/distortion. As I say, analogue line-in and bluetooth worked flawlessly, so I guess it must be something to do with the decoding algorithms in the unit. Interestingly, the glitches and stuttering occurred in the same places regardless of the sound source and whether it was sent over LAN, WiFi or USB.My only other criticism is that the volume buttons on the remote control are really hard to use. It's difficult to describe why - they've just seem very slow to respond. This is a shame because in many ways, it's a really nice unit; compact, smart-looking and capable of perfectly good audio quality - but not with network or USB sound sources.

Not the product advertised
It ordered the product A50+, but received the older A50 model which of course I returned. There is likely still a lot of confusion on this product listing and I don't think mine was an isolated case , if you see under product "colour" it still says A50.I suggest to by from arylic directly, which will be much slower but likely more secure.

Magic box of tricks
The media could not be loaded. Wow! What an amazing amplifier, DAC, streamer, USB player. This little box of tricks can do so much. I am baffled at how they got so much tech into a small box. The sound quality is amazing in my bedroom. I have paired the A50 with a pair of B&W DM600 S3 and they sound so sharp. I've tried all sorts of different music and the A50 can handle everything I throw at it. The 4 stream app is really good and setup took less than 30 seconds. I highly recommend this unit to anyone wanting a streamlined, minimalist machine that doesn't compromise quality. Definitely 5 stars from me.
