On 12/23, the seat became dislodged and had to be removed because one couldn't sit on it any longer. 5 years. Very sad. Bought a cheap, tradition shower stool and won't remind replacing that every 5 years.I had this seat installed last November and have been using it for a year. Easy to use, out of the way design but very functional. I was afraid about the "flimsy" hardware but there is nothing flimsy about this seat! I do not recommend you do this, but I nearly had a fall but thanks to my seat being down, I landed on it...hard. I weigh 180 lbs and it didn't budge and saved me from hitting the ground hard. Really easy to clean, just rinse. The teak is still looking new. I love this seat! As you can tell by the pictures, it sits very close to the wall, less than 2 inches so its out of the way when need be. Very sturdy when you need to sit.

This is awesome little shower seat. Stylish, easy to use and my wife can shave her legs by sitting or putting her foot up on it. Really great quality, beautiful, efficient use of space and smart design is the anchoring points are exactly 16” apart and for those of you not in construction that is the standard spacing of wood studs. Very important you mount this to studs as the NEGATIVE part of this seat is the drywall anchors are a waste of time, poor quality and would not support a wash clothe. How do you find studs behind tile? You do not, find them above where tile stops and transfer down, but find those studs. It’s a great unit.

Fold up out of the way. In my opinion the only way to improve this product is if the brackets to hold the seat came in different finishes. Currently, the only finish available is chrome. All the other bathroom fixtures are in Champagne Bronze (new color).

I like the seat. To note, it has four holes in each bracket. Be sure to have a backing of wood behind the tile backer and be extra careful to get a good tile set where the bracket will be....plenty of thinset and sturdy tile. I had to get longer screws than what was provided. The instructions were crap. Place the covers on the brackets with the pin holes facing toward each other so that the pins can be inserted and removed easily if needed. Make sure threaded end of pin faces out so you can use a screw to remove the pins as well. The covers to the pin holes were pretty bad. I used silicone to help hold them in place.The seat is well made and the finish is good. Color is as expected and matches all my other AquaTeak items. It will holdup 200lbs without issue but I use it gently so it doesn’t put too much pressure on the tile. It’s mostly for the girls to use for shaving their legs.

This was exactly what I was looking for but didn't know it until I saw it. I had it installed in my master bathroom two years ago and it still looks brand new. After 3 foot surgeries, I knew I wanted a permanent bench in my shower. So when I moved to a new home and the master had a shower stall that was larger than a single, but not oversized, and needed a renovation, it was time. However, a full permanent bench would take up too much room and a corner bench wouldn't do the job (if you're unable to stand to shower). When I came across this, I was thrilled. However, my contractor was skeptical. I ordered it anyway. He had no problem installing it. Actually he was quite impressed; not just with my selection, but with the ease of installation. I'm extremely happy with it. It's there WHEN you need it. Friends and family who've seen the bathroom make-over have all commented on the shower bench and asked where I found it. No one has ever seen anything like it.

Easy installation following the brief instructions. I was hesitant to drill the eight holes for the mounting brackets so I made a cardboard templated that I taped up to the shower wall and corner. Everything fit together well and the seat folds up and down nicely. The seat and brackets are heavy so I am glad I screwed in 2x6 braces between the wall studs so I could center the seat on the back shower wall.

So we are now on our third one. The quality of the wood and the bar that the wood is supported by (stainless steel) seems to be fine, but the brackets that affix to the wall are made of a cheap material that is not resistant to moisture/water and therefore corrode and disintegrate and ultimately fail, prematurely.The design itself overall is not very good For the sake that if you do need to service a part, there is essentially no way to remove it without breaking it or cutting it off, which means you ultimately have to replace the entire bench. The last one we installed only lasted six years, which may seem like an acceptable amount to some, but as you can see from the pictures, this has been the same failure three times now. If they would just manufacture this with higher quality material like solid, stainless steel, these would last substantially longer. The other issue is that the round cover is made out of some cheap plastic part that ultimately ends up cracking, especially once the bracket starts to expand and then disintegrate. Unfortunately, we are stuck having to replace with the same design because of the holes that have already been drilled into our tile and shower wall.

We just completed a bathroom remodel, replacing a tub with a walk-in shower. This seat is a perfect addition.It offers sturdy and substantial construction and sleek design. In addition, it folds neatly against the back wall under an inset shelf.A side note to recognize this seller for their outstanding customer service. Due to damage in shipping, we had to request replacement of the original product. Once a photo was provided, the seller did not hesitate to send a replacement. The new seat arrived on a Sunday morning, less than 2 days after the issue was reported. They were great communicators as well, immediately working to assure my full satisfaction.
