New Carburetor for YAMAHA MOTO 4 225 YFM225 YFM MOTO-4 CARBY 1986-1988 Carb

Fits 1986 yamaha yfm225 4 wheeler
Carburetor fits. Minimal tuning required. Not sure why other people say it doesn't fit. You have to remove the throttle cable completely from the old mikuni carb, the old hardware for the choke cable and throttle cable can't simply be screwed on the new carb. I noticed the old carb has more things you can adjust, but I'm not trying to race, just ride around my property/ basic farm duty stuff. I only had to adjust the idle screw to speed it up a touch. Total time to swap took maybe half hour. ATV no longer bogs down when blipping the throttle. I've been running it a few weeks now- Runs smooth. Hope this helps. Only thing was the fuel line connection is smaller so you'll need to shim it. I just cut a piece of the new fuel line from the overflow and used it as a sleeve in between the nipple and the original fuel line. One hose clamp later, no trace of fuel leaking.

It works..... But....
It fit on the quad, the quad runs with it, but that's about where the positive portion ends. If your wheeler was like mine and the carb was sitting for 10+ years and not working then yes it will work. And run. But, the problem is is that it likes to leak gas and requires a lot of tuning. Be prepared to work to make it run how you want it to. Mine runs pretty good now and ALWAYS starts with it on the machine but you need to turn off the fuel when you're done riding if you want a full tank when you come back to it. That's my only complaint.

Keep shopping.
Poorly threaded/bent throttle cable cap. I had to reuse the original cap and spring. Throttle bore not near the correct size as the OEM carb, about 1/3 smaller. Fuel inlet not 1/4 od to fit the fuel lines. Not correct for a YFM225 engine. Fast shipping though.Update, aluminum flashing (garbage) in the float bowl came loose and plugged the pilot jet. Save your money and buy from somewhere else. Got it running but the undersized floats either hang and cause this unit to flood or not let in fuel in at all. Leaks.

It just works I can't complain
I installed the carb on an old 86 Yamaha moto4 225 quad that had some old gas issues and it did the trick starts right up and runs great
