Acorn 5W Cooker Hood LED Bulbs, 51 LED SMD LED Bulbs Equivalent, Warm White, 360 Degree Beam Angle, E14 Bulb (Warm White Cooker Hood, Pack of 2 5W)

Bought to replace the halogen capsule bulbs for a couple of wall lights. Halogen bulbs these days seem to have an incredibly short lifespan and I'm sure I am not alone in getting fed up with changing bulbs which sit in difficult to access fittings.These units are notably brighter than the 40watt capsules they replaced, they are also considerably larger and despite measuring up, they just fitted.Colour temperature seems a little higher that halogen, presenting a more clinical bluer white, again not an issue as the lights are in the hall rather than a living area.Final point is that these bulbs would work best in an opaque fitting. My wall lights are partly obscured and from certain angles you can see the rows of led lights which are quite dazzling. Not an issue for me, with some fittings the lights might well become distracting.

So, I bought what I thought was going to be a slightly more expensive, single 5w G9 led bulb in order to replace a Halogen bulb in my bathroom light.Now I clearly misread the heading, because when it arrived, there was a pack of 5.This means that I have 4 spare that can only be used in 1 fitting. Fine. I just hope it isn't gonna be the case that they don't last long and I end up needing all 5!Anyway, so, first thoughts aside, I swapped out the 42W "eco halogen" and fitted one of these.No issues...Except even with the light fitting being off, the lamp gives off a low level glow.Probably in the region of 0.5w.(I don't own a light meter, so I can't exactly measure it)It's odd, because I had bought a pack of Diall ones from B&Q, but that one went dim 30 Sec after being switched on, which is why I ordered these because I thought there was a compatibility issue what with having your standard UK lighting setup with a vent fan connected into the bathroom light Cct.So, new lamp fitted glows even when switched off...As for the light level when it's on, well, it gives a clean crisp almost clinical light.Is it equivalent to a 50w normal lamp? Don't know.Is it working without issues (like the B&Q ones had), yes it all appears fine so far.So for now it's getting a 3 star rating because of the odd glow despite being switched off.They were (incredibly) cheap, but we'll see how well it lasts.

Yet another item of LED junk from Amazon - a pack of five, all fitted in the same light unit, and one of the LEDs has burned out already! 20,000 hours? Bullocks - I didn't even get 20,000 SECONDS (in fact, I got about four hours).Amazon needs to start doing something about this deadly flow of dangerous LEDs from China - BEFORE someone gets killed when the LED catches fire.No feedback or contact (yet) from the seller - poor response.

Lights are great, as bright as the hallogens they replaced. Arrived real fast and I will definitely be ordering these again in future. I've had other brands in the past but these are by far the clearest lights I've had from led bulbs. I've had them in for a few weeks now with no issues. If I notice any flickering I will update my review but so far a very happy customer.

I've fitted about twenty of these lamps around my house now, and not had a dud one yet. The lamps that they replaced were forty watt halogen and these are noticeably brighter. With all the money I'm saving in electricity costs I'll be able to buy even more stuff from Amazon.

Very compact compared to other 5w LED bulbs. The warm light was a bit too dull for us so we replaced them with the Acorn cool light equivalent for the living room and used these elsewhere. Only downside was that one of the bulbs broke as I was taking it out

Huge difference in light output over halogen bulbs and much lower power consumption. These are a very white light so maybe not suitable for every room but perfect for where i installed them

These are rubbish. I’ve fitted them to my lights and already parts of the LEDs have started to fail. It’s not even worth the trouble of returning them. Stay clear!
