2 Years running and it works perfect.
I have had this installed on a 1k solar array that feeds power to an off grid/on grid work shop. It power all my LED lights and chargers off 2 deep cycle battery's. I would by again and it works perfect. I did get the software to work on a laptop back in 2019 and it was crappy. Unless they updated it do not buy this thinking the software is amazing because it was hard to set up and kind of useless once I did. But the 100 amp unit is rock solid. I never even think about it..... the thing just works. And that's how i like it.

Excellent charge controller
Absolutely awesome charge controller! I wired 12, 100 watt panels to the 60 amp mppt in a 48 volt series/ parallel...3 sets of 4 panels series together...500 ah 24 volt battery bank. I see 2.9 kwh on cloudy days 4.5-5 kwh on sunny days. I've seen as high as 1350 watts come in from 1200 watts rated panels! Don't cheap out on wire and plan out your system rite. Matching panels, batteries, equal length wires, minimum resistive points, good clean connections....and you will be happy. Thus is my 2nd epever mppt on different projects, 1 running 3 months, other 3 years. Both are perfect still and meters still read like they did out of the box.

50 amp charge controller
Been using the older style 40 amp. 12/24. I'm up graded my voltage to 48. I bought the 12/48v CC kit..I love how it covers any of the; voltage I love these controllers.Best units for the money. IMO....Just as good as an outback HALF THE PRICE. I Like the dry contact option that are in this unit new 50 amp unit. Many options for that. Load control is easy to use. I have the MT-50 on both which is a must unless your plugging the unit into a lap top or PC for the settings which are more detailed doing that way. The MT 50 pretty much gives all the information you need with a nice bright back light look 9. The temp sensor is another great feature. I bought the whole kit. Very easy to install unless your not savoy enough to do so.I will be using upto 80% if it input rating to keep it lasting. The older 40 a CC will be out back in commission for a second solar array fyim a different direction. I Not sure yet if both CC can communicate or have an option to do so yet but not a great concern. The older unit has its own built in contactor for load control..The newer one you have to buy a good relay, set the parimutets in the load control settings and provide a passing voltage thru the dry contacts on the new model. Be doo to use it for a lie volt disconnect and it with a grid tie inverter fornuhht time use. Use the batteries to feed the GTI and the load setting to cut off battery power to the inverter. Many options in thatpart So far so good. Highly recommend.

works as it should but old technology and programming could be improved! instructions are poorly written and user interface when trying to do a user defined setting was cumbersome and would have been much better if the instructions were more detailed about what each setting does. for example, when setting amp hr of battery bank, it should say for example, that the higher you set the ah bank setting, the higher amps it will push into the battery (if that is actually what its doing). I assume that most batteries are capable of charging at 10% of their ah rating so if a set of trojans 6v in series are 235ah then a 40 amp controller might only let 23.5 amps total pass through (I may have 500 watts of solar and perfect sun and wonder why i'm not getting 400+ watts and only seeing 317.25 watts (23.5 amps x 13.5 volts = 317.25) which is all the controller allows through even though the rest of the system is capable of 450+ watts. So telling us what each setting will do will let us realize that the controller is doing its job right and not defective and it is our battery bank that needs upgrading. also it might let someone know how important it is to put the right amp hr in setting...ive had many customers have no idea how to figure out the amp hrs of a bank of 6 trojan 6 volts that each battery is labled 235 amp hr so they multiply that by 4 to get 940ah when its actually 470 ah since they are series parallel to 12 volt...so they overcharge their new batteries. there are just so many things like this that could be included to make a customers project work properly and not blame it on the product. when my customers batteries get ruined or they don't see the wattage they expect then they automatically think the product doesn't work right. The "best reviewed" controllers out there like Victron, have great instructions, tech support and websites/videos that show the customer how and why each setting needs to be the way it is. Also, many of us use an AGM battery as a cheap battery that doesn't gas much but your settings only say flooded sla gel...no one knows that gel and AGM are same settings and that agm cant be equalized so its important to get the settings right. also give some suggestions like "to charge slower and increase the life of the battery bank, set it at 20% less amp hours or to charge faster and run loads during the day, set it 20% higher but watch for boilover of electrolyte...etc. these little devices are doing a lot of things so giving us more info about what its doing based on each setting would make a much better result in the long run. why is the programming so limited without the mt50? I cant even set battery bank size on the chassis display! some customers don't want the mt50 and cant load the software on to their computers because that is so old it doesn't work right on newer computers. all in all, these devices do their job pretty well but its the manufacturer who just does the bare minimum to make an average product when it could be exceptional!

Just installed this controller to replace my old controller, which failed for unknown reasons. So far the new controller is doing well. It is quite heavy and much larger than my old one. Probably has much better heat dissipation. It voltage reading is exactly the same as my inverter which is a good sign. The external display is impressive. Gives lots of information like daily/monthly/total charge, all battery types including gel and a slew of other options. I ran it off a 50 foot ethernet cable with no problems. Mine came with ethernet to ethernet connections, but the picture showed a usb to ethernet. This was a nice surprise. It was tight, but wiring block fit a 2ga wire. Shipping was amazing fast as well. Although this is not a big issue for me, but i found the instructions to be a little vague. Then again anyone buying this controller probably has a good idea on what they are doing and will only use the instructions for reference. As i did. Update: To change the power usage. 1) Day: set the time and the day cycles at midnight. 2) Month: set the date and time to last day and time to just before midnight. It cycles at the change of the month. 3) Total: have not figured a way to do this.

I’ve had this controller operating on 1000w of solar panels for my farm shop charging 12kwhr of batteries at 12v nominal Non stop for about two years now working perfect

Shows no amps or volts coming in from panels no lights no error code. Garbage!

Do not like programming for load control. Used and external programmable relay for inverter. Like the internal inductor for (RFI) interference suppression.
