a nice homage for popeye
I watched the DVD with two of my nieces, one of whom likes to watch popeye cartoons which thanks to her uncle she sees a lot. They seemed to like it, but were not over-excited. "The quest for Pappy" is a nice 21st century computer animated homage to popeye (which for some reason has not been starring on screen since the 80's), but it cannot compete with the old fleischer black and white cartoons, which my niece very much enjoyed, and were much more funny, irrevent and innovative then this one.Lately I read on the web there is going to be a 3-D popeye movie, produced by sony. I hope that will revive intrest on popeye and create a new cartoon series of popeye and slso help persude WB to continue releasing his old cartoons, from 1941 onwards.
