I love Basmati rice and used to have to make special trips to Target for individual sized microwave portions until I found these from Uncle Ben, just as tasty, super quick to cook (only 90 seconds). I purchase the single portion packages but they’ve also come out with family size recently. The shelf life is extensive and single portion size is perfect and delicious. Worth a try, anyway.

This is it a reasonable price and quick to make. Easy to prepare. However, it's very bland and I didn't taste any flavoring of chicken at all. I actually had to add some seasoning.I'm

For a rice maven who had to reorganize cooking methods and despite low expectations, this microwave Basmati rice has proved to be 96% as good as rice produced in the standard boil/simmer/stand method. It tends to clump a bit, but separates well using a fork to fluff. (In conventional cooking I'd fix this using a scant liquid measure, adding 5 minutes to the stand part and perhaps a bit of butter.) I've used this variety every week for over 5 years and it's a kitchen staple. That being said, this was my first rice order from Amazon and something of a gamble. Sent by Amazon, it arrived in a timely manner, repackaged over a Mars food us, llc box. The contents included 3 packets of rice that were 2 MONTHS OVER BEST BY DATE; the rest were dated next year. As we go through rice quickly, and the foodstuff being rice after all, I decided to try it - it looked and tasted fine, and there were no adverse effects. I'll be ordering again, but will be careful about checking dates.
