My husband got me this for my 2012 Equinox and it is awesome! It is powerful as I can start my car from great distances through many barriers. I love that it tells me that the car is running. My husband installed it and he is very mechanical, but needed to consult with a guy who installs these for a living. I would say that it will probably need to be professional installed so keep that in mind.

I've put in a few Compustar starters over the years. I have an older version of this remote in my car, so I knew what I was getting with the wife's. Was not disappointed. I'm not sure why I waited so long to try the "blade" style bypass, it's awesome having the starter/bypass integrated into one unit, makes for a cleaner install.As far as the remote, I haven't tested the range yet but she's impressed with it, so I'm good. If your considering a remote start, spend the extra money for the 2-way function, you won't regret it.I'm not sure if the instructions are dated, but I had a bit of trouble programming the starter options. Had to make sure the doors were unlocked (I think) before it would let you into the options menu. The instructions also weren't clear about the low current installation instructions. My vehicle was all data-driven, so I wouldn't have needed to hook up the high-current relays. Minor inconvenience.The other thing to keep in mind, make sure you check the install instructions when you order. My application needed an additional diode, I happened to have one handy, but that could have easily derailed some things.Last thing, not sure if it's abundantly clear in the item description, but you do need to have the iDataLink cable in order to program the blade.

Works very well with my 2017 Honda Civic EX-L. I had it installed for me at Bestbuy using my Total Tech Support annual membership and it was a breeze. The signal reaches my car from my 2nd floor apartment through about a total of 5 walls and a thinner concrete wall leading to the buildings garage.I rent my car out on a car sharing service called Getaround which depends on cellular signal to unlock my car from renters' phones, which allows them to get in the car and use the rfid protected car keys in the vehicle. However the cell signal doesn't always reach my car, and they can't get through the first barrier of unlocking my car, so the compustar really helps smooth out this process by letting me unlock the car from my apartment unit.

Great product

I had it installed at Best Buy on my 2012 4 runner. The Best Buy tech did an amazing job and even programmed so the unit works with the original key. The unit was pre programmed by great seller click & add and therefore I did not need to buy the additional usb for programming. Magnificent technology works seemlessly as if it was there from factory.

The keychain hand remote starter device stopped working once the battery died and it will not charge. Sometime i find my car start up on its own when i walk outside. How can i get a replacement keychain starter remote?

Very nice product. Not recommended for diy. I've ran a couple of systems before. Not like this one. Racked my brain for a good 48 hours before I said to hell with it. Plug it didn have the door lock module which I didn't know. But I have a friend with one and it's quality all the way. I just didt have the money to get professionally installed after spending 300 for the kit. I do recommend it all things considered.
