Sizzix(SIZC7) 3-D Texture Fades Embossing Folder, Gray Large

Love all Tim Holtz products. I aged silver Sheen paper with black soot paint. Looks great for my steam punk cards

I was truly surprised at how much this fder delivers! It makes paper look like metal. It is sturdy and a must have for making beautiful cards.

Great for cards, scrapbooking and even faux metal embellishment for other steampunk crafts, like boxes. I use this embossing folder on basic black card stock. Then I use a basic metalic paint, the acrylic crafting type in the small bottles. I just dry brush it lightly over the top so the black paper still shows through. Next step, I add a complimentary metallic color, or two to add little highlights that look like rust or patina. Easy to make paper look like aged copper or rusted metal.

These are sold for paper. I’m a creative leather worker and use these with cased leather to embellish customers projects. YOU MUST PROPERLY CASE YOUR LEATHER or it won’t work as well as you’d like

This extra thick embossing folder is wonderful, but be aware standard sand-which in your die-cutter will be to thick to pass through. I find platform + one plate + 2 cardstock shims to be perfect for manual die cutter units. Try metallic paints and inks on black cardstock (dry time needed) to emboss incredible 3D card fronts that look like real metal stampings.
