Great book for future geologists. Quality photos. Very detailed information about each stone.

I’ve always enjoyed rock hunting but never knew much about what I was picking up. Now getting into rock tumbling and wanted to learn more about various rocks and how to identify them. Having a good time reading through this, and looking forward to using it as I travel around the country while camping. Very pleased with purchase.

Mineralogy is fascinating. For all the rock hounds, Crystal lovers, and geologists.

They were cubic but need to be polished

My son loved this book. It has a lot of color pictures and descriptions of various rocks. It will be a good reference book for his rock collecting hobby.

I’m new to Geology but wanted to know more about how the landscapes of the American south west were formed and how the huge variety of rock types are found in close proximity. This book does a great job of explaining the history of the earth and the myriad geological processes that form the landscapes we see today. Lots of clear photos and tips for the beginner to help identify rock types. Weekend trips into the foothills take on a new focus as we can start to understand how it’s made!

Loved the book, we added the polished stones kit later. Very interesting. She enjoys showing the differences in types of stones. A good value
