Fast easy to format drive works very well as my second drive, a bit small by today's standards but available in larger sizes.
Nice, very fast and great for storing all the video files I use on my laptop. Too bad it's not a bit bigger. The installation instructions and how to format for Windows 10 worked fine, I added this as a second drive. My Dell XPS laptop has a one TB standard SATA drive. When purchased in 2012 the cost of solid state drives was pretty high, so I went with the old style, but large size. At work I've used similar sized solid state drives since 2014, although sometimes there is a strange problem with access on these that even the IT department can't solve. I'm not certain it's the drive except swapping it into another machine didn't help. When I say access, I mean access speed I had one that for some reason would take a long time to process things. IT swapped me another like machine and swapped the HD, but it still ran slow, while they searched for the problem they gave me a slower processor machine, and I had to reload the software I used. Later they came back and said they could find nothing wrong, but I still had the slowdown issues, so I kept the slower processor machine. It was either a software issue or a solid state issue, I'm not sure which and IT would not clone it for me on a non-solid state drive, so I never found out. That says nothing about this drive, just a past problem I've had with others that may be a solid state drive problem. So far this one has taken all the video files I've put on it and it streams them either to the screen or through an HDMI interface to my TV. Side by side I can tell the access and streaming is faster than the non-solid state drives. Since the graphic card is the same for both, playing detailed movies with high frame rates and HD files shows the occasional artifacts on the screen in the non-solid state drive, but the solid state drive shows none. I'm impressed with the results, I spend a lot of time in hotels so connecting my video files and plugging into the Hotel flat screens with HDMI allows me to have a good clear HD picture. One more good thing, I tried to have a larger drive put in my machine a few years ago when the drive was going bad, but it wouldn't fit because of space. The compact size of this solid state drive fit's the area with room to space, it may not be 2TB, but at least it's fast and I can always move files back and forth between the main storage and OS drive and this when I want to play them. I've had some success streaming off of a stick in the past, but sometimes they get damaged that way and won't work any longer if you overuse them, the drive here is a bit more robust than a USB stick. Recommended, for anyone needing a good, fast second drive. You may want to get a larger one, but this is OK if you don't keep a huge file library of video or music. If you check the list the best bargain of the bunch is the 240 GB version of this drive. The price goes up by less than 20 bucks with double the storage space. The TB versions are still a little too much on the expensive side for me, maybe later when the prices go down.
