Worked great on my Ford Mustang
This socket worked perfectly on my 4.6 liter DOHC engine. What I really loved about it is that the external diameter of the socket was the perfect size to fit the long hole in my aluminum cylinder heads. It guided the new spark plug down in perfect alignment to prevent cross threading in my Aluminum engine. It also held the spark plug firmly yet was easy to pull back off the plug once the plug was tightened. I highly recommend this socket.

Perfect Deep Plug Socket for my Subaru Forester
The perfect plug socket for my Subaru Forester with the 2.5 SOHC motor. 6 inch overall length is such that only the hex portion of the socket protrudes when the plug is fully seated. That's helpful since there isn't a lot of room between the valve cover and inner fender. The hex at the top is a nice feature: on my car there is room for a socket wrench, but on a vehicle with a very tight fit you could use a combo wrench or adjustable wrench to turn the socket. On cars with less deep plug wells, the knurling on the side would make it very easy to screw the plug by hand. I have to make do with spinning the hex portion, but that works fine. The inner hex portion that fits around the hex of the plug is 3/8" deep, so the plug does not go very far up into the socket: just far enough to grab and hold securely. The magnet is a cylindrical insert that fits around the insulator portion of the plug and grabs the metallic plug base. I think (and hope) the magnet is a press-fit, and is not just glued in there. I can't see any signs of adhesive.Overall, I like the magnetic plug keeper better than the rubber, but they both have their pros and cons. I've had rubber inserts pull out of sockets, and stay on the plug, a significant nuisance. The only problem with the magnet type is that the magnet grabs the top electrode of the plug as you insert it, causing it to stick to the side of the socket and catch the insulator, but it's not difficult to angle the plug some to push it fully in. And it's a cinch to pull the socket and plug apart - the magnet is strong enough to hold the plug securely, but not too strong.Machining of the socket is good, and the finish is satin, rather than glossy chrome, so it's easier to grip and spin by hand. Weighs 9 ounces. I expect this socket will last a good many years.

Perfect for 2002 Ford Escape Spark Plug Removal
Ford placed the Escape’s V6 spark plugs down deep holes. I have (2) other standard spark plug sockets. Both are too big to fit in the spark plug holes. This socket is thin-walled and works perfectly on the Ford Escape. And it’s magnetic so once loose, it will suck the spark plug right out of the hole!Great tool, super addition to my tool box.

MUST HAVE!!!
Have no idea what I did with my Matco and needed a cheap replacement. Well the cost was cheap, but the quality was that of my Matco, which I have yet to find. Worked perfectly on those dang deep set spark plugs in the valve cover!! So happy!!!

Solid
Have you ever closed the door on a real quality luxury car? I'm not talking about a Cadilac or a lincoln, I'm talking about a Rolls Royce, Bently, or Maybach. When you close the door on one of those, there is a certain "feeling" that rolls up your arm and comes to your ears that says "WOW, that's solid". That's the same feeling that you get when you pick this tool up. If you slap it against your palm you say - That's a solid tool! Need I say more, a mechanic is looking for a tool that will fill his needs today and for years and years to come - this is one of those tools!

Worth a shot
I was looking for an extra deep socket to extract spark plugs from a Subaru engine. One of that plugs had the metal ferrule stuck on it from the spark plug wire and the needle nose pliers couldn't reach it. I couldn't tell from the picture or item description whether the inside of the socket was open. As it turns out, it's not. I would have to drill out inside the socket so it would have the inside diameter to go over the stuck ferrule to engage the socket to the spark plug.A positive take away is the magnetic grip if the socket, and it's length. If you have hard to reach plugs this is an excellent tool to try as an option from the old style rubber grommet spark plug socket.

Well worth the price, wish I got them years ago.
As a mechanic This sparkplug socket works great.Use it for the police interceptors, deep spark plug hole. The magnet helps pull the plug out. Alot cheaper than the tool truck socket.Well worth the price..

Perfect tool for the job
Changed the plugs on my Honda Odyssey and realized my spark plug socket was way too short for this engine. DO NOT try to use an extension. Buy this socket. The magnet and socket length makes this the perfect tool for the job.
