As some others have stated, this has a limited selection of hole sizes, but I knew that when I purchased it. For the price, it's well constructed and useful given that limitation. I don't use it a lot, but it has helped me a few times when I needed more than eyeball precision for a perpendicular hole...didn't need to be perfect, but just more than I'll get on average with eyeballing. the metal sheathing around the hole is durable...I needed to drill a 1/2 inch hole over my head and after getting the bit started, I slid this on the bit, slid it to the surface and was able to hold it well enough by hand. Got a great hole, I can't tell I shaved any metal off the sheath. Good value and glad I have it around--should have got it or something similar a long time ago.

This is a great little tool and easy to carry in a tool belt or bucket. I used it to make a shadow gage for aligning my portable solar panels. When I checked the perpendicularity of the post to the base with a square at 6 positions, it was only out by a degree or two at two locations. I also use it for drilling pilot holes for screws when I really need the screw heads to be flush when countersunk into a wood or metal surface.

Handy and affordable alignment tool This guide is a great budget-friendly way to drill straight holes, especially useful for dowel joinery. It’s not the most rugged option out there, but it performs surprisingly well for the price. A little care in setup and clamping goes a long way. I am glad I purchased this tool. Building a fence and it makes very straight 1/2" holes thru the 4X4's. Use a C-clamp to hold it down. I found it easier to just start the hole first with your drill and then clamp the block down using a drill bit to guide it. Great handy tool.

I never knew this tool existed. It makes drilling into pipe SO much simpler and straight.

This little block will really come in handy when you need to drill a hole. The block is solid, well made, and very reasonably priced. This will guarantee that you drill perfectly perpendicular. The block has a "V" groove, in case you need to drill into a corner. And there's guidelines on the bar to help you line it up straight.

Be careful with this. The product picture shows metric measurements in mm which is what I wanted. The actual product received has imperial measurements in inches. I'm not sure if there are two different versions or if the hole sizes are identical on both and they have labelled one slightly inaccurately. I will measure the holes and find out. 1/2 inch would be closer to 13mm than 12mm. *They sent me out a proper replacement quickly to be fair and it is not a bad product. As longas you receive the correct product it is decent.
