Material Type:plastic adapter So Slippery Pete loves to spend his weekends on the water. It doesn't matter if he's rock fishing on the Chesapeake Bay or crabbing on the Wye river, he just loves boating. But boat motors need maintenance, and he has always preferred to change the gear oil himself. Over the years, Slippery Pete has owned just about every brand of outboard and stern drive boat motor there is Mercury, Suzuki, Yamaha, Johnson, Mercruiser, Nissan, Tohatsu, Honda and Evinrude. And every time he changed the gear oil, he had to figure out what size adapter he needed to fit the fill hole in the lower unit. NO MORE!! BECAUSE Slippery Pete's LOWER UNIT GEAR OIL PUMP COMES COMPLETE WITH 3/8"(Plastic), 8mm and 10mm GALVINIZED STEEL ADAPTERS!!That covers JUST ABOUT EVERY BRAND THERE IS, WOW!! I don't know about you, but that sounds pretty convenient to me.AND THE PRICE FOR THE WHOLE KIT IS ABOUT THE SAME AS JUST ONE OF THOSE ADAPTERS!! Don't ask me how Slippery Pete is able to make any money on the deal, but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Its a great kit for a insane price, I LOVE IT!!

No adapter required for my outboard...
I picked this up for a 1985 25hp Evinrude outboard. The 3/8" threads worked perfectly for that motor without attaching the adapters. The seal was great from the o-ring. Pushes a good volume of fluid in with each pump so it didn't take too long. Used it with some Lucas gear oil in the tall quart bottle. The "straw" on this pump worked great and reaches to just about the bottom. My guess, I would say it will leave behind less than an ounce of fluid at the bottom of the bottle. Great product.

Works OK
This item works ok. The large diameter of the finger-tightening ring and short thread-length of the adapter I need for my Yamaha outboard prevent it from fully seating/sealing, so it drips a little while filling. Also, it pumps a very small volume per stroke. It took a long time to fill the lower unit. For the money, and for how-often I need it, it'll be fine.

good
Good metal adapter which were what I needed, good o rings. The pump on the other hand did not work so well/at all. Probably could have gotten it to work but wasn't worth the hassle, had another pump. Good for price.

Pump works
Pump works good enough but it only came with one of the fittings and of course it was the one I needed, so it made a nice mess during use.

Buy a different one - not worth the money.
Terrible ... the pump does not have enough stroke. In addition the pump resists returning back to the up position. The top of the pump is not secured and falls off almost every time you put downward pressure on it or if you have to assist it to return up so you are able to pump the next stroke. I bought it because it’s one of the few that have the metal fittings. Knowing the poor quality of the pump itself now I would have purchased a less expensive one with a plastic fitting.

defective parts With no recourse sucks
This product did not come with the straw that hooks to the bottom of the pump allowing the gear oil to be pulled out of the quart Container and the two fittings do not fit my boats casing as far as I’m concerned this product is no good to me One other thing, the adapters going into the boat are made of aluminum but the hose that connects to those adapters has a fitting thats plastic (cheap one time use, why! ) where is the quality

Lower Unit Gear Oil Pump
I haven't used this product yet but I've used one in the past and this will make changing the lower unit oil very easy.

Pump failure
Purchased this to change gear oil in the lower unit of a Yamaha outboard motor. The pump failed when I was about 90% finished. I was not able to completely fill the unit. This failure made for a big mess and a hassle. I would not buy this brand again.
