Air King AK55L Combination Ceramic Heater with Exhaust Fan and Light

Installed by a contractor. Tricky to install in existing can, but it all worked out and the heater, fan, and light are great!

My husband had no problem installing, although we skipped installing the fan. The heater works great and has a nice modern look to it.

This is one of my wife's favorite features of our bath remodel. If it is really cold, then we often stand under it and take advantage of the heat blowing down on use, but within a few minutes it heat's the room and you can move around. Our bath size is bigger than most hallway bath's but smaller then most new home mammoth master bath's. Good amount of heat for a medium size bath.I hooked up the heater to one manual twist dial timer and I hooked up the fart / exhaust fan to another manual twist dial timer, each next to the other, which look great with a standard double wide cover plate. Huge advantage is that each turns off automatically. Great when she gets in the tub for a four hour soak, but only need 10 minutes of heat. And great when you want to vent the bathroom for a few minutes, and not all day.The heater is noisy. At first I disliked that but have come to accept this "feature". The good news is that when the heater is on you can clearly hear that it is running instead of the exhaust/fart fan. Because I run each off of a manual twist dial timer, which appear identical, and because I am too lazy to label them, I cant remember which one is for the heater and which one is for the fart / exhaust fan. With the added noise in the heater, it is easy to tell which one you have selected as soon as you turn it on.Overall, very good product.

I concur with the other reviews that say this thing is loud. I've had it in for about a month now and either it's quieting down a bit or I'm getting used to the noise... I'm not sure. I'm really enjoying the heating, and I get the impression (I have no way to actually measure it) that the venting works better than my previous unit, but the heating element's deep hum actually sounds like a diesel truck when I stand in just the right spot in my master bedroom, which is across the hall from the bathroom where this is installed. I've also noticed that the heating element will switch off after being on too long. While this is a nice feature that prevents overheating, the fact that it's still blowing warm-ish air can be irritating. I almost wish the heater and the fan would switch off, not just the heating element. So, while the price is very good, and the exhaust is good, the heating leaves a bit to be desired, as does the sound level of both fans. In short, I probably could've summed this review up simply by saying, "meh".

Air King AK55L Combination Ceramic Heater with Exhaust Fan and Light - it does all very well in my small bathroom. I paired it with Leviton 1755-W switch for only $11 more.

The heater/exhaust fan was pretty, but the electrician stated that it was difficult to install, and it was not as quiet as I thought it would be.

Good value...rattles a bit...feels a bit cheapy...Box came destroyed..probably delivery damage.
