Boost Your Score: Underground Calculator Programs for the ACT Test

I purchased this book hoping to raise my score and not feel as rushed during the ACT. Basically how this book works is that it tells you how to program certain things into your calculator such as the Pythagriam Theorem and the Distance Formula. It gives you step by step instructions in how to program the formulas into yoru calculator. Then, you just select the program and enter the numbers and then bam! it gives you the answer. (I know it sounds like magic and unreal, but once you get the book and try it out you'll understand what I mean). This is completely legal on the ACT and I'm surprised that not everyone programs formulas into their calculators. This book was very small though and only offered a limited amount of useful programs. It also shares a few calculator tips you may not have known, but most of those are self explanatory. I found about 7 of them useful. But I find them EXTREMELY useful. The programs have really helped me save at least 4 minutes (which is a lot on the ACT) during the math portion. I would've given this book 5 stars if it had more programs.Basically I would sum this book up as spending money to instruct you how to program math formulas into your calculator. And it was totally worth it.*FYI I believe this only works on TI-84 or TI-83

I purchased this product along with the prep guide for my son who was taking the ACT test for the second time. After he programmed the formulas into his calculator, he was able to work much faster through the math section of the ACT test. He was delighted with his Math scores when he got his test results back. I highly recommend this product!

My daughter said that it has good shortcut formulas. She was happy to use it to program her calculator.

But it is in fact a book, like I expected

This book would be better titled as a how-to for dummies. The calculator comes with THE most difficult to understand manual, no pictures, and little assistance. This little book teaches you how to actually use a technologically advanced calculator as well as how to store info necessary to pass the ACT-SAT-GRE so you can become technologically advanced!!

There isn't really much to this you couldn't figure out on your own. Most of the programs are only a line or two.That said it isn't that expensive so if you aren't sure you know what to do on your own it certainly won't set you back much.

I purchased this book for the promise of easy to follow step-by-step instructions for programming the calculator. Unfortunately, unless you are already a programmer, you will have little hope of following the instructions provided in this book. For example, the book leaves you on your own to figure out when to use the "change sign key" vs the subtraction symbol, or how to enter exponents in your program.I would not recommend this book to anyone.

Highly recommend buying this book if you are taking any standardized tests. This is all information that you will use in high school and college.
