Performance and Features.
I’m part of a photography adventure group. As such we tend to go off on our own in remote areas to find the best shots. But we still want to stay connected. That’s where our SAMCOM FPCN30A come in to play. It has features like the Group Call button that regardless of what different channels your group might be on, they’ll all hear a call from a Group Call. That’s amazingly helpful. The units are solid, and so easy to use. It also has a scramble function that helps keep your conversations limited to your intended recipient(s). This is a feature found only on radios that often cost many more hundreds of dollars. Clarity is very good for extended distances, depending on your terrain. Other easy functions include low or high power, sub-audible or digital code and more. These radios work well for large groups like ours where we have adventurers off on their own or on a team where everyone has their own channel (up to 19 channels). This looking for a well made, strong signal, 2 way radios that perform under tough conditions at a very affordable price should feel comfortable purchasing these radios.

Solid radios with good performance
I bought these radios to test and the more I used them the more I find them adequate for general GMRS use compared to more complicated brands. The user manual isn't great, but this is typical when the assumption is that the end user will program them. You can talk right out of the box though if you don't have need to do any special programming. There is no included option to charge other than the charging cradles, but you can order car chargers for them or use an inverter for your car or truck and use the included charging cradles. Overall a good, solid radio for those that don't want or need super complex radios for hiking, camping, etc. The radios do what they're supposed to and deliver very close to the advertised TX power. They are also repeater compatible if this is needed.

Clear but not great outdoors
Radios are very clear from short distances but long distance tends to break up and lose clarityUpdating my original review to 5 stars. Seller was extremely accommodating in trying to help resolve my issues. First, they offered longer antennas but I told them they wouldn’t work for me. Second they offered to replace with a newer version but I didn’t think that would work either. Lastly, even though the return window had already closed they offered to refund my money because I was not satisfied

Great value
Great value radios. Definitely get 5W of power out of them, battery life is solid and user Interface is great. The only negative things are that they don’t handle drops very well. I would love to see some silicone sleeves or something similar to help keep them alive beyond a drop but for the price, if one or two take a beating it’s not the end of the world. When using a headset or shoulder mic so the K2 jack on the radio is open, I have experienced issues in operation in the rain, it did not break the radio, but it caused problems while it was wet inside. But once it dried out it was good as new. On that note when I say rain, I mean massive down pour, and standing in it for 6+hrs. I use the radio with an antenna reroute kit so it sits higher up on my shoulder and that has also helped to improve performance. Pound for pound the best radio for business use I’ve come across within this price bracket. I highly recommend them and will continue to use them until SAMCOM makes a digital radio capable of interfacing with ATAK, then I’ll use that radio.

Nice
My main concern was how loud the radios would be. I drive a loud vehicle and sometimes it's difficult to hear radio traffic. These lil things put out quite a bit of volume.

Convenient, professional and full of great features!
I've used various two-way radios over the years, and have found some really good ones and some really bad ones. Let me start off from the beginning saying that these are excellent radios. While many two-way radios on the market today are pretty much all alike and clones of each other, the SAMCOM FPCN30A is not only solid, but has features found on no other radios. The one feature I am excited about the most in using this radio is the ease of contacting any of my SAMCOM radios, even though everyone else is using different channels. The group button on these radios automatically sends out your voice to any similar radios programmed with the same frequencies, no matter what channel they are using. For instance, if Team 1 is using Channel 2, and Team 3 is using Channel 8, while administrators are on Channel 12, you can transmit with the easy-to-press GROUP button, and everyone in your fleet will hear your message on the designated group channel, no matter what channel they are using. This feature is easy to program with any frequency, channel and subaudible code. This is a feature found only on radios that often cost hundreds and thousands of dollars. Communications are crystal clear for considerable distances, depending on your terrain. These radios also offer voice-inversion encryption, which can be programmed via the software and enabled in the radio's menu. This allows you to switch back and forth between clear and encrypted communications with ease. Other easy functions include low or high power, subaudible or digital code and more. I'm still amazed at how well the group call function works much like that on radios costing many more times the amount of these SAMCOM units. These radios would be good for use at large-scale events where up to 19 teams can have their own channels while the 20th channel becomes your GROUP calling channel, ready to find anyone on any team without switching channels!

You need program cable
Purchased for work. first-order = 16 units and all arrived same channel program. The second-order = 4 units but came with a different channel so had to buy an extra $ 20.00 accessory that you use only ONE. Easy to change channel programming but why need to spend $ 20.00 extra for 5 seconds of programming?????
