Amicable Side-by-Side Smokers
I've never been happy with the smoke flavor (not!) produced by a gas grill. I think if you taste any smoke flavor, your imagination is producing it. I've also tried the little, iron boxes in which you are supposed to put water-soaked wood chips to achieve smoke flavor. MEH! In my experience, they just don't produce enough penetrating smoke to do a good job. Missing a good smoke flavor, I bought a Weber charcoal grill for those times when I do a long, slow, intense smoke (ribs, roasts, etc.) The smoke flavor is delectable. But the thing is, I don't always have the extended prep time, as well as clean-up time that it takes to successfully operate the Weber. It "is" a bit of work, including managing the coals and temperature level. So, when I recently saw these little wood-pellet smoker gizmos, I thought they were worth a try on the gas grill. I read product descriptions and reviews ad nauseam! Discerning what they all actually said was as complicated as a Charlie Chan mystery. They were various shapes, sizes, and prices, and their function and results claims were . . . myriad. The most confusing claims were about the length of burn/smoke time. Their variances were myriad myriad: anywhere from three hours to ten hours! Really?! Often I found the product's size/length might be obfuscated or missing altogether in the product description. Therefore, it was hard to compare different seller's products with much sensibility.I decided on the factors I thought most necessary to compare (if possible): size, product material (needed to be stainless steel), price, and maybe shape (square, hexagon, round, etc.), although shape seemed least important to me, especially if it were any long, straight tube-like. I also decided that all claims of burn-time were strictly subjective to each individual situation, which presented their own list of myriad variables: grill?, smoker?, size?, shape?, airflow?, temperatures?, etc.I ordered this particular item, since it was 12" long (not 6", which seemed really small to me), made of stainless steel, and about half the price of similar ones. It was a square tube, which seemed okay to me. We filled it with wood pellets and fired them as instructed with a torch at the open end. Voila! Lots of delicious smoke for a small, pork butt roast on the gas grill at low, slow heat. With our particular conditions the pellets smoked themselves done-for after about 3.5-4 hours. The roast was also done by then. It had a lovely, deep smoke layer in the meat, and the smokey flavor penetrated all through. I think the little smoker did all that was promised in its description. For my purposes, I was pleased with everything about it.I also have an outdoor, gas oven, In which I bake during the summer heat, mostly breads and pizzas. (The air conditioner thanks me.) I also can use it as a hot or cold smoker, which I will be trying this fall. I ordered another pellet tube, so Oven can have her own. I can see that Oven and Grill might be working at the same time in the future. Wouldn't want them fighting over a smoker tube, since they have been amicably working side-by-side till now. And, as I reported earlier, the price for this particular item was quite agreeable; reasonable in comparison, and I didn't hesitate when ordering the second one.In the words of Charlie Chan, "Thank you, . . . so much."

Overall I think it will work just fine.
This is a well made smoking tube. It came wrapped in bubble wrap. Appears to be constructed the same as all the other brands with stainless steel mesh bent into a square shape and one end cap that is open and one that is closed. It is spot welded. Overall I think it will work just fine.

Excellent, affordable smoker tube
This thing works really well. It's also skinny enough to fit in various locations in my smoker without taking up a whole tray. If you fill it completely, some pellets will obviously want to fall out the open end when you lay it down. A flip-up enclosure would have been nice. I'll have to engineer something, but might be as simple as a little aluminum foil wrapped around the open end, then light it from the closed end. As far as burn rate, I used Pit Boss pellets, and I got about 5 hours of burn time with them. The pellets had burned completely and provided excellent smoke throughout. For the price, this device is the best value out there.

Thanks for a great gift for a very affordable price
Really, really DARLING socks -- I gave a pair to two different friends and they wear them all the time. I have worn the pair I saved for myself many times -- they have about 35% wool, if I recall, and they are so soft but yet somewhat substantial -- they are definitely not a thin sock. I have always washed them in cold water and dried on low, so I have had no problems with shrinking or fading. Thanks for a great gift for a very affordable price!

Effective but not the solution
I was in a large outdoor area by the water, it only protected the arm i wore it on, my back and rest of my body was still getting bit. They would probably work well in a tent or under a canopy, but they absolutely do not work in open spaces. 3 stars because they kinda work but they don't work as advertised.

Smokes like crazy!
Should be 4.5. Would have given 5 if had some sort of cap to keep pellets inside when laying on its side. I light with a heat gun. This thing smokes like crazy for at least 4 hours. I use it with my GMG when cold smoking or speeding up the smoking process. It lays inside the vessel and provides serious smoke. I just ordered another one for my buddy. He could not believe the amount of smoke it provides. Literally makes your eyes water and cough when you open the lid. Do not waste your money on the 23 dollar name brand!

It’s simple and it works.
This thing is awesome. No need to spend more money on something you’re going to light on fire. I used this in my 26” Weber kettle to smoke cheese and it performed better than I excepted. It was easy to fill with pellets (1 end is capped) and stayed lit the entire time.
