Thoughtful and beautiful book on the Harley
This book from Motorbooks is well made and presented. All the pictures are high quality from the older images to the more modern ones. I do not know a lot about motorcycles and their parts, though I know a little of the history of Harley-Davidson, and reading the text gave me a deeper appreciation of the evolution of the bikes. The book is not exhaustive of every Harley made but explores all their innovations in both design of the bike and the build of the engine. The images give nice photographs of the whole bike as well as details of the motor, and sometimes a variation in different models. The author, Mitch Bergeron, certainly seems to be knowledgeable of the bikes, and the intricate details pertaining to the changes that occurred during the development of each bike, so it becomes quite fascinating. This book is definitely marketed to the Harley and motorcycle enthusiast, and perhaps even those that enjoy engines, but I cant imagine anyone that peruses this won't appreciate the rich history of Harley-Davidson, even if just through the pictures alone.

The perfect gift for Harley fans
I have never owned a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, but I have many friends who do. When I saw this book, I was very interested in it because it contains information about every Harley that has ever been built, all the way back to 1903. Harley-Davidson was one of only two American motorcycle companies to survive the Great Depression, so they have a rich and interesting history. I have really enjoyed reading this book and learning more about the company. This would absolutely be a wonderful gift to give to anyone you know who owns a Harley.

An interesting history of an iconic brand
I'm not a motorcycle guy, but I certainly know about and respect Harley-Davidson. They've been an icon since (well, before) I was born, and I grew up seeing them around. I really enjoyed this book, as I didn't know about their history and found it very interesting. This book covers their very beginnings, from motorized bicycles to the present. The pictures are great, especially the older ones showing the early models...at least for me, as I didn't know about those. It's a great "coffee table" book with large pages and photos, but the story behind the pictures was the best part for me.
