Gangsters and Organized Crime in Buffalo: History, Hits and Headquarters (True Crime)

I remember the Brinks robbery. I lived across the street at 69 College St. my friends and I were playing when we heard machine gunfire, ran over to the Brinks garage and saw the armored car guards shooting at the fleeing robbers.

I thought instead of dollar amounts from 2010 it should have been from 2023. Some of the names I have heard.

I bought as a gift for a friend and he finds it interesting. Since it’s about the local Mafia, and His Dad knew a particular Mafia family, he was looking for the name in the book. He didn’t tell tell me if he was able to find it

Awesome historical read & research novel!!! Definitely recommend for any history or Buffalo NY fan. Look forward to more relative books.

This book is all over the place. One paragraph will start out talking about a mobster, then will name 4 or 5 people that mobster was associated with, then the topic will inexplicably change to one of the 4 or 5 people he listed as an associate. It was really hard to keep up with the dozens of names per page in the book (literally dozens of names per page!)I didn’t even finish reading the book. I gave up at the halfway point and ended up thumbing through the rest of it, looking for interesting tidbits. I didn’t find many.The research MR. Rizzo did for this book is astounding! Complete with hundreds of footnotes, this book read more like a college research paper, written by an over exuberant student.I tip my hat to the amount of work that went into writing this book, but it was Just. Too. Much!

It reads like a text book, listing facts. I was looking for a little bit more story.

STEFANO MAGADDINO WAS THE LONGEST SERVING DON IN THE UNITED STATES FOR OVER 50 YEARS AND WHY WAS HE SO POWERFULL, YOU'LL NEED TO CHECK OUT THIS BOOK. SO I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANY GANGSTER / MAFIA FANS. GREAT JOB MICHAEL!

Not what I expected , very disappointed , waste of money ! ! It's not a read , but a number of references put together which in these days of Google etc... is lazy journalism

One of the best books out there about OC in the Niagara area. Well worth the price and a great addition to any collection of mob books. Being from the Falls, I can associate with all the stories and places mentioned in the book.

Hard to read without no-doze.
