I am collecting books with the name Fairchild, since that is my name. I would like to know more of the history of how it came about. Is it an old book, was someone named Fairchild ever associated with it, and not just a company? Who used the book primarily in the beginning, and then it caught on and who uses it now?The pictures are delightful and black and white outlines suitable for copying and coloring!I love the colors of the book! I am a writer and editor. This is my opinion of this beautiful book. Sure it may be out of date. It is useful anyway.Charlotte Fairchild

As an online clothing seller, particularly of womens plus-size vintage, this book has been an invaluable guide to a multitude of terms, styles, and fabrics. It has saved me hours of research.My only complaint is that if you don't know the name of what you are looking for, it can take a bit of time to find the definition. Otherwise, five stars!

There are numerous fashion items in this dictionary with pics to make descriptions clear. It even gives historical information on many items. I will find it very helpful with my writing assignments.
