Was dubious to try since I've only used dry backed, pre-cut to length sandpaper on my inline sander for bodywork. Very impressed! The adhesive is not over sticky, the sandpaper doesn't tear instantly on the tool ends, and doesn't load up immediately. The old sandpaper I thought I really liked is trash compared to this.Loving the roll stock! Easy to cut to my length preference, and easier to store. Bought a bunch of different grits and really glad I bought this style. Only downside is if you drop the roll while cutting...I had to re-wrap about 10 feet back onto the roll. It rolls really easily across the floor when you are holding the cutting end of the roll! Lesson learned there to face the wall behind the workbench and not parallel to it when cutting. And to try to pay more attention to what I'm doing and not be a klutz!

From a woodworker, I can comment on this for use on wood and sharpening tools. For the price, it is much more economical than 3M gold. It doesn't cut quite as well, and clogs more easily, but for the price it's fantastic. If I were specifically using it to sharpen chisels/plane irons, I would buy the 3M. But, for my shop stock sandpaper I like it very much.

This strip sandpaper has been terrific for lapping the soles of woodworking planes, flattening the backs of plane irons and chisels, and for flattening Japanese water stones such as  Kai Japanese Professional Knife Sharpening Stone .The pictures show how I mount a strip of this sandpaper on a scrap of granite countertop (32" x 4" x 1.25").Some shops that install granite countertops will let you get a piece of their scrap to use in your shop for sharpening. They might not charge for it, either. I prefer the granite strips over plate glass--in case of accidents the granite is kinder to clean up.One of the usual challenges with lapping a plane sole or a chisel back is the need for many short, repetitive strokes. By using longboard sandpaper you are set up for a very long stroke. Work is finished faster, and with fewer changes of sandpaper. The fourth picture shows a Stanley #80 scraper that I reconditioned. I had the sole flattened in two minutes. True story. Lapping that sole was faster than the spray painting.I love this method with long sandpaper.

I use this 600 Grit for one step of many while sanding my knives to final....I don't use a lot at a time, just piece by piece as I adhere it to a flat block to sand bevels. I ordered in December, and last night, as I was sanding a new blade, I ran into a section of the roll that was missing sandpaper, was crinkled, and had been adhered together. It looks like they were transferring from one roll to the next on the production line, but I just lost almost two feet of the roll due to this. I've only been through maximum of 1/4 of the roll. Will there be more bad spots? Will my other rolls of this in different grits have the same problem? I didn't expect that, and though it's only a couple feet lost, it still says something about the manufacturing or quality control. I'm not very happy with this roll.

Did not like the performance of this paper. Stuck well to the tool, but was extremely difficult to remove. In fact, it tore into pieces while removing and left lots of sticky glue on the tool surface. More importantly, it had a tendency to build-up crude in the paper and ultimately fail. I was simply sanding wood and bondo. Could get about 6 passes back and force then it became worthless.

I ordered the Dura-Gold Extra Long 40 yd. roll of long sander abrasive in 4 different grits. They have an adhesive backing which makes them stick very well coupled with the compression holder on my machine. I didn't really need the adhesive but it works great. This is a very good abrasive which works well and is not horribly expensive, but not cheap. I'm very happy with all four grits of paper, 220, 150,120, and 80.

This actually some really good paper, I do a lot of auto body work and use this paper in a lot grits from 36 to 400. It is relatively inexpensive compare to the bigger name brands and the quality is excellent. Ive never had an issue with grit transfer and it sticks to my dura block perfectly.

This sandpaper is surprisingly durable for the price. I was expecting something closer to the cheap rolls sold at harbor freight, but it is noticeably better. I personally use it on a granite slab to sand pieces perfectly flat. I have used it on wood and metal with great results. My only real complaint is that the adhesive does leave a significant residue. It's not a huge issue on the granite. It can be easily removed with a little acetone. However, I wouldn't stick it to my benchtop, and it would probably build up significantly on a sanding block.

Highly recomended, very good abrasive and extreamly good adheasive backing, worth every penny

I have enough sand paper to do me the rest of my life! This roll is huge and reasonably priced. I searched for this format in several hardware stores and then gave up. Amazon was the only place I could find it.

I've been looking for something a little coarser than the 80 grit that i can get locally. This 60 grit is very high quality bonded paper that lasts a long time. Very happy with the purchase - gets your body work flat fast.
