"Life is Strange" Issue #1- A solid (if uneventful) return that promises bigger things to come.
Everyone has pieces of media and entertainment that speak to them on a deep, often complex level. Whether it be a book that captures our imagination, a film that broadens our horizons... or in my case, a game that profoundly impacts you on an emotional level.Yes, for me, "Life is Strange" is one of those delightful rare treats that hit me in the core, and hasn't quite let go. I was incredibly taken with its poignant and heartfelt narrative and thoughtful handling of character, as my heart was shattered and built back up again over and over by every revelation it had. It was simply a phenomena. And since I heard a comic book sequel was officially commissioned by Square-Enix, I've been beyond ecstatic. Especially after hearing the book follows up on my preferred ending to the game. I've been anticipating seeing some of my favorite characters once again, and excited to see their next adventure. And now that it's out, I can safely say that issue number one is quite good for what it is, and promises even bigger and better things to come. The start of a four-issue one-shot starring Max Caulfield and Chloe Price, this inaugural story picks up one year after the events of the original video-game. Max and Chloe have relocated, and Max is working as a photographer taking concert pictures for an indie band. But something's not quite right... and Max if left questioning the ramifications of her mysterious abilities after a series of startling events...The artwork is fantastic and the writing is every bit as fun and kitschy as you'd expect from a "Life is Strange" story. It definitely doubles down on the lingo and slang that either made or broke the game for players, and the set-up is quite the fascinating one. I can tell already that this is going to be one heck of a story from this first issue. And in that respect, I'd highly recommend it to fans of that first game- it's shaping up to be a very good follow-up.My only minor squabble with it is that it is very much a "first chapter," and thus it's quite uneventful. It's all set-up, so don't purchase this issue expecting to see any major revelations just yet.But I'm ecstatic to see where the story goes from here, and if the quality of writing and artwork continues at this level, it's gonna be a very fun ride. I'm giving issue number one a very good (just not quite perfect) 4 out of 5. Definitely check it out if you're a fan!

The Comic After the Game
I write these reviews for myself. Spoiler alert! I just finished Life is Strange this morning and bought all the comics. I played Before the Storm first, so I was pretty hooked on Cloe+Rachel until the betrayals of the first game came around. Now I'm all Cloe+Max. I will say the Rachel romance in game was better than the Max version. Maybe I need to unlock a different ending. This comic was very surprisingly short. I love the art and story so far but I am very surprised how short it was. Now for the rest of them.

It's exactly what I was hoping for
This was exactly what I was hoping it would be. It could use more smooching, but it delivers the Max & Chloe I've been missing since I finished the first game

Beautiful
I enjoyed the comic book, it was fun to read, and it’s the continuation from the video game(contains spoilers from game). I was able to connect with the characters. If you played the full game(or not) either way, you should check it out.

Great read!
I have to admit that I was a bit unsure about LIS continuation in a form of a comic book, but the first issue got me hooked. Really nicely wrapped story. I'm waiting for more!
