Excellent kit
This kit is perfect. It was challenging for my first build but mostly because it is 1/72 scale which means the parts are small. They fit together perfectly with no issues. I see why people say Tamiya have some of the best kits. Not much extra plastic on the pieces to have to sand off. I just started a Revell kit and I cannot say the same about it. I will be building more Tamiya kits in the future.

True to the Tamiya label - A fine model!
Tamiya, a legend in the modeling industry, does not disappoint with their famous 1/72 scale P-51D model kit. It has been known among modelers as THE best quality model of this aircraft in terms of fit, ease of assembly & detail for many years. Only recently have 2 kits come close to the quality of this model but both have their own issues from which they fall short. The price on these fluctuates periodically but these precisely detailed model kits are always worth it! I've built a bunch of them & still have other paint schemes I want to try out.

Nice Tamiya kit
Another fine quality Tamiya kit. Small parts made it a little challenging but nothing an advanced beginner can’t handle. Painted the entire plane with Tamiya Silver Leaf spray paint then added the Testers blue acrylic by hand.

Great P-51D model kit.
Accurate kit with excellent fit between parts. Wing alignment is built in and there is very little, if any filler needed along all the major joints. My only quibble is they could've included a decal for the instrument panel. Doesn't matter since there are many after-market detail sets to cover that. This is such a beautiful and easy build with a subject that is represented by many decal after market sets. You know you'll be building a few of these so order at least two!

Really nice little kit
This was my third model, overall, and my first Tamiya. Now I see why people say nothing but good things about them, everything went together very smoothly indeed. Painted mine black because I felt like it, I think it's cool. Not historically accurate, though, lol.

Stepped on.
Although contents inside seems ok, the item came in a flimsy clear plastic bag which looks like it was stepped on. Is Amazon cutting back on shipping boxes? This is the third shipment I received like this. I used to rely on Amazon shipments.

1/72 scale P-51D model kit
Accurate, well engineered and beahlutifully molded. Separate cockpit canopy frame doesn't fit quite perfectly.
