Incorrect description and badly finished/seconds? Warranty with a ray mears bushcrafter receipted?
I bought this knife for £165 ish at the time in full knowledge that it is a Benchmade bushcrafter. I ended up returning it as it had a issue with the hollow “pins” (tubes) holding the handle. They were perfect on side but proud on the other side causing “hot spots”. Handle was uncomfortable at first but your hand adapts and I was happy to modify a good leather sheath to hold it thinking that I would reorder (the leather sheath that comes didn’t hold my confidence but I buy £50-£100 sheaths for good knives so I’m a sheath snob). Didn’t reorder as they went to £230 but have been lower since. The worry is that if I had persisted with it as I nearly did would Benchmade honour a warranty after the return period when your receipt says Ray mears bushcraft knife. Just a worry that I had and think that the description should say what it is for warranty if not to properly describe the product. That is the reason for the low score. The knife itself I would give a 4* at £165 properly finished but buyer beware in the way it is sold at present.

Not Ray Mears knife!
Whilst the Benchmade 162 is a very good knife, it most defiantly is NOT ! a Ray Mears knife. I'm surprised that this has been allowed to be advertised as such. I would have thought Ray and Trading Standards would hve something to say about this!
