PanOxyl Creamy Acne Wash, 6 oz (3 Pack)

I never write reviews but I know how hard acne has been for my son . I hope this review will help other teenagers who struggle with acne and it’s unpredictably. My son is 17 a junior in high school and has battled acne since the 9th grade . We have been to dermatologist who recommend antibiotics and topicals with major side effects that outweigh the benefits . They have even deemed him a candidate for accutane. We choose to use the topical antibiotic prescribed that does clear his skin somewhat not before the breakout gets worse and then at the cost of leaving his skin very red and visible dry and chapped . So there is not big pimples but his skin still isn’t clear . Fast forward to two months ago , he plays basketball and requested a creamOr wash for his acne on his back and shoulders which is far worse then what is on his face . So I went online and ordered this product with not a high expectation as I have bought every over the counter medication scrubs and washes you can buy with no luck . About two weeks later I looked at my son one day and said “wow , you face looks super clear and early good “ he said “I have been using the wash on my face that you just bought “ I was in shock! I haven’t seen his face this clear and not irritated in years . I highly recommend this product for face and body for major acne . It totally works . It’s unbelievable.

I bought PanOxyl on a whim in a state of desparation. My (adult) acne has been getting out of control and I needed something that would provide results. I have been using this about every other day for a month now and here is what I have experienced... First off, it doesn't dye your skin, your hair or your towels. I use it in the shower so I can apply it and rinse it off completely without worry. It took about a week for me to notice any results (but that's better than waiting a whole month right?) My current acne started to reduce redness and irritation. My skin, particularly on my forehead was less oily but one major CON to this, is it WILL dry out sensitive areas of the skin. For me, it was around my mouth and chin. Very dry, chapped, irritated skin for about 5 days. Aweful. To remedy this, I simply stopped applying the PanOxyl to my mouth/chin area and continued to use it in the problem areas, and about 3 times a day would moisturize the irritated are. Worked like a charm and I'm back to normal. Overall, this stuff is great. It does what it is supposed to. Just know what areas of your skin are sensitive. The areas that are usually dry and flaky, avoid those areas. Or just use it every other day or so. It worked very well for me and I feel much better not having to hide my acne blemished face.

I love it because it leaves your skin clean and super soft. I use it daily in my shower for my back and face.

I use a nickel size amount when used. Works well, but not my favorite product.

As many people have said before me, yes, this is a new formula. I had tried the old formula a few years ago, around 2015- it was thick and creamy and would lather when mixed with water. The new formula is light and more comparable to a gel like cleanser. Though it is different, I feel like it is just as effective. When I would use the old formula, it would dry my skin out like crazy and I would get red irritated patches around my mouth and cheeks. It kept my acne under control but my sensitive skin just could not handle it. Though I did like the old formula, the new one does not irritate my skin or make it dry whatsoever! Woohoo!! It is such a relief. I am able to use it on my face, chest and back without the dry, tight feeling the previous formula would leave me with. I would recommend this to anyone looking to keep their acne under control! It is not harsh and does what it is supposed to do. I feel that it could work well with all skin types whether you are normal, dry, oily or combination. What do you have to lose?? Give it a try!

This product has sufficiently solved my adult onset acne problems. Whatever the reason in my mid-thirties (stress? very early stages of menopause? Changing skin?) I started getting acne on my cheeks. Pink patches, itchy and pimples under my skin. I finally decided to try a product and this one cleared it up! I’ve been using it for a few months now. Things to note: - I use some water and rub the product on, then let it sit for 1-3 minutes before I rinse it off. I believe this helps (often something like this: apply, brush teeth/mouthwash, then rinse off). - Night wash: I always use a some type of moisturizing product after. I believe this helped me not to get dry skin in the adjustment period or after. - Morning wash: I always apply a product with sunscreen after washing in the morning (tinted moisturizer or similar). I know this face wash makes your skin more prone to sunburn and I don’t want to take my chances. Actually, after the first few weeks I haven’t always been using this cleanser to wash in the mornings since I’ve found I don’t need it as much. - It would be wise to use a white face towel. I figured this would bleach my towels and it has indeed!

I have very sensitive skin. I break out from conditioners on my hairline, can wear pretty much no makeup without a reaction and I now suffer from the wonderful hormonal breakouts of many 30 yr old women. Not to mention that my skin is pretty dry and I tend to not be oily. I had tried prescription topical creams to no avail. You know what worked? This face wash did. Did it dry my face? Yes it sure did. I only washed my face once a day with it, at night, to let my face adjust. I also started using okay sensitive moisturizer afterwards and would you know, besides my monthly your friend is coming breakout, I'm now a free women from the hormonal teenage kid breakouts that I thought were well in my past. It does dry so be sure to moisturize. Did it work overnight? No it took a month or so. I know it's frustrating and you want your face wash to be magical overnight but it needs time to get your skin in working order. Trust me, I'm the least patient person but it's well worth it now.

When I wrote the comments, so happy there is a promotion here 2 for S$18.78. I will order one for my friend. Feeling: I have been using it once a day for a week, and I feel good. I am a combination skin type. It does help recover and prevent acne happen. The smell is just exactly like the Benzac I tried before LOL. I don’t expect it to function as an acne treatment cream. In my opinion, the Benzac Spots Treatment 10%/5% maybe be more effective to apply to the acne over the night. But I am looking for a treatment to prevent acne happen again. As I still have acne on my face, I will use 10% for my night routine daily. After recovery, I will try to lower it down to 4％ for the ongoing plan. Usage: I pasted some useful info below or you can check my photos. It also said it may cause sky dry issues. It is a symptom that may result in skin peeling when using Benzoyl Peroxide products. As I am not the first time using Benzoyl, I used Benzac Ac 5%/10% from the Watson to apply to my acne before. I did not encounter such an issue. Do remember applying lotion with moisturizing cream over the night. It will help. - wet area to be cleaned - apply acne wash and gently massage the area for 1-2 minutes - if going outside, apply sunscreen after using this product. because excessive drying of the skin may occur, start with 1 application daily, then gradually increase to 2 or 3 times daily if needed or as directed by a doctor Do remember to apply sunscreen, if you need to go outside. I just only use it before sleep. Ingredient Health Check: I did the check on Think Dirty to ensure no ingredient will cause potential problems except for Benzoyl peroxide. TIPS: From my understanding, acne is caused by a bacteria called Cutibacterium. It is a facultative anaerobic type which means it does not like oxygen and cannot survive well in the air (about 21% oxygen in the air). Benzoyl, a peroxide, used the weakness to let bacteria exposed more to the oxygen and kill them.

Very good for oil skin

Must have for acne prone skin. Might take some time to build up tolerance if you want to use it daily. Important to use sunscreen too. Use separate white towels though because it bleaches and stains!

I’m sure a fraction of the people here are recommended this by Dr Dray (watch her videos on YouTube if you haven’t!!). This product is a godsend not just for acne on your face and chest but it also functions as a deodorant. Apply it on affected areas (i.e. face, back and underarms) like a mask and leave it on while you shower. You’ll never need any deodorant with this trick.

It's alright, but not as effective as the foaming wash.
