Set up EASY. Works FAST
Having bought a bazillion devices over the decades, it's really nice to get something that requires minimal set up. Plug it in, no caveats, no glitches. Hit the resync button on each device to set up a new encryption. DONE! It took longer to set up the wifi router that I connected up to it than the Trendnet device took. The only thing I would recommend that if you want to test the device, have them nearby. I set up one on the ground floor and the other way up on the fourth floor. Not a good plan. Had to go back and forth to resync. Ugh... The speed test was really far beyond my expectations. Very, very fast. Nothing like it used to be.

Good product works great.

Not worth it.
I tried these and could never get a solid connection and I'm in a new house. Support kept telling me it was an issue with the wiring. Switched over to the TP-Link brand for 2000 mbps and the work great out of the box, awesome signal throughout.

Great upgrade over the basic 200 mbps model!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: We had an older Trendnet model we were using for my son's ethernet gaming. He was getting very low ping and disconnects so I figured it would be b/c our model was likely old and outdated or starting to break down. I ran a speed test using the old model and was getting relatively low upload and download speeds. I ordered this upgrade (which flaunts speeds up to 1300 Mbps) and I have fiber so I was hoping for a big improvement. When we hooked this new model up and ran a speed test..WOW! The upload/download speed from the old model more than doubled with the download going from 7 to over 20. Since hooking this up we have had 90% less lag disconnects and super fast gaming connections. Def worth the upgrade.

This is a great option for users with no CAT5 wiring
Most of our house is Wi-Fi but a few places Wi-Fi would not reach even with high end devises. So I bought this and plugged it in next to my router. Great bandwidth to those remote places, not fully CAT5 speeds but good enough to game without lagging. In my case I an running though the fuse box to another room in the upstairs. The manufacture says that it may or may not work depending on the circuit. I took the risk and am happy with the result.

These little boxes made working from home a success!
Like millions of others, I started to work from home in March. I consistently had a problem with others not being able to understand me. They said I cut out repeatedly, and sounded garbled. I tried multiple (expensive) headsets. I bought a wifi booster/extender and had a techie come over to be sure it was in exactly the best location. No improvement. I called my wifi provider. They came out and said it was a problem with my company's equipment. I called my company's tech support. They had me wire my laptop directly to the router. Some improvement, but totally impractical. We plugged the laptop into the booster. Nothing. After three days with tech support on the phone, and multiple gyrations over, under, on top of, and around my desk and table, my tech guy said to buy these. They arrived quickly and, they worked!!!! I didn't rate for gaming because I don't use them for that, and I didn't need their tech support, but they solved my problem completely!!!! Thank you.

Meh, Not trash, but bad instructions, bad software, and unable to achieve rated speed.
First off: No GFI, No AFCI, No Incandescent, and no Fluorescent lighting (LED), connected directly to the wall. (tested in multiple spots in the house). Few Issues I have: 1. Setting the encryption up per the instructions(manual and website) appears to be wrong: You do not hold down the sync for 15 sec, and go to another and press for 3 sec. Press sync button for about 6 seconds, when the lights turn off, release. Go to the other unit, do the same. This is how I got mine to sync up with a new encryption. 2. Speed is ok, but not close to the rating: In speed tests I got anywhere between 80Mbps to 200Mbps, not bad, but definitely not what it is rated at. As you can see from the tests. My first test used my wired network: Download upload speed is 870/35. I have a gigabit backbone in the house, I was testing these powerline adapters for install at a client (IT Guy here). The second and third test are using my ethernet port and the powerline adapters (at different points in the house). I know it is not a conclusive test but gives you a good idea. 3. Be careful with the setup software. It uses winpcap. This software is no longer supported and has a vulnerability that lets the DLL be hijacked. If you use the setup software, you should uninstall when complete. The Good: can hit 250 Mbps, so for my client it will be fine because their internet is only 100Mbps. The Bad: Bad instructions, non-updated configuration software, and invalid specs. The 2 star is because I am not going to return it because it meets my need, but if you are trying to push 4K video or have a faster internet, there might be better solutions.

Ok throughput for web browsing but not so great reading and writing to a NAS device
Installation was easy. Connection is reliable and has never dropped. The adapters worked when they were both connected to outlet strips. However, throughput doubled when I connected the adapters directly to a wall socket. However, the speed was still about 20% less than the best WiFi speed I get in my house when doing an internet speed test. Writing to my NAS was about 50% of the WiFi speed. I tried two different wall outlets for the adapter near my router and it didn't seem to make much of a difference. One outlet was about 15" away from any electrical equipment but the Ethernet LED always stayed red.

Easy set-up. Working now for quite a few months to extend my FibeTV signal from the Modem to a remote TV set-top box (STB). Works much better than using the VAP2500 (Video Access Point network wireless transmitter) that was provided by Bell. Great price. Great quality. Recommended.
