Age appropriate and DURABLE!

Like "Boats," "Planes," and "Machines At Work," "Trucks" is a household favorite.My Daughter (19 mo now) loves to read, and the Barton books are some of her very favorites. "Trucks" is perhaps her very favorite at the moment. She could hear it read 200 times a day.It has the same characteristic bold, bright illustrations as most of Barton's other books. "Trucks" features a whole collection of trucks that we see around town quite regularly, like the tow truck and the garbage truck and the icecream truck. My daughter's favorite is the cement truck. She stares at that page for minutes, and when we happened to see a cement mixer in real life, she squealed, she was so excited!The words are simple and direct, like the pictures.Though I've seen Barton's simplicity criticized, I see it as a winning trait. The images captivate a young child. As for the words, my daughter is already trying to read from these books, and she's not even two. With such simple, short sentences, she can actually "read" along with me, and she is already able to say whole sentences out of this book. It's adorable! (I'm very proud!)I recommend these books for any little kid who likes vehicles or who likes to sit and read, but who is not yet old enough for the long attention of more wordy stories.

We love these books! So appropriate for preschoolers in toddlers! The words are simple and straightforward, but have nice repetition and do a nice job of storytelling. Both of my young boys have it memorized. The illustrations are simple but not cheap looking, if that makes sense. As in they are simple, but are also nice art. The solid lines and bright colors combined with the simplicity of the pictures also make them fabulous the child development stage of the kids the book is intended for. My boys, and our nephew, have all gravitated to this book (and the few of Barton's other books that we have...Planes, Trains). We have a good-sized children's library, but this has been a staple for a few years now and we will continue to love it! Highly recommended!

My son loves these Byron Barton transport series. We originally purchased the Planes book a couple of years ago for his first long haul flight. He was only 10 months at the time but I believed that the simple, straight forward pictures prepared him a bit. We read it for a few weeks before our trip and then each step of the way I would flip to a relevant page and point out familiar surroundings. Now that he is a toddler and is obsessed with anything on wheels, we bought the Trains and Trucks books. As he grew we were able to delve into more detail, explaining the scenes. He particularly loves the construction trucks as we have loads of construction work going on locally right now and see cement mixers and dump trucks often.

Our grandson is into “big trucks” and he loved this book. He made his dad read it to him several times. The pictures are vibrant and engaging.

Nice book for a little one!

What a fun book! My truck loving son loves “My Bike” by the same author so I suspected he would enjoy this book. It did not disappoint! The illustrations are colorful and simple, yet there are little details (hello cat sitting in the window!) that my son and I love to look for. Another excellent addition to our little library.

My 2 year old LOVES this book. It was a hit soon after we got it from the library, so we knew it was one we'd need to buy him for his second birthday. (He requested it for weeks after it went back to the library!) Low and behold he still had most of it memorized when he opened it this afternoon. SO excited to have our own copy!

Ce livre est un succes aupres de mon fils de 18 mois . Cependant, le livre est lourd et de grande taille, ce qui gene considerablement mon fils qui passe son temps a transferer ses livres d'un endroit de la maison a un autre. Enfin, les dessins sont un peu simplistes - pas assez de details a mon gout (mais c'est le standard americain).

英語の読み聞かせに購入しました。息子は働く車（電車なども）が大好きなのでくいつきがよかったです。内容はとても簡単！バイリンガルママじゃなくても読んであげることができると思います。

ミキサー車、高所作業車、ごみ収集車などのトラックが出てきます。発音の難しい単語もなく、英検２級程度をお持ちの方なら誰でも読むことができます。絵も色使いがはっきりしていてわかりやすいです。同じリズムで文が続くタイプではなく、絵の解説がしてある感じです。On the road,Here come the trucks.They come through tunnels.They go over the bridge.Here comes the bread truck with bread for the store::::::１歳４か月のわが子はとてもお気にいりでトラック・トラックと言って離しません。
